E-Mail and RSS Program

Hey, does anyone know if it is possible to create a program like Microsoft Outlook to check E-Mails without using an Internet Browser? And if so, could anyone tell me if it's possible to add RSS functionality to it? Oh, and I have no idea how to code, so if anyone could make this, thanks in advance.

I'm developing WiiConnect, which will eventually have those features. E-mail should be coming very shortly (I already have SMTP working), and RSS will be a little while later.
