gamecube online (homebrew?) for wii

has anyone created or in the process of creating a application to play gamecube games online on the nintendo wii?

If MINI is the homebrew `version` of IOS, then surely one could create a homebrew version of MIOS...of course, it shouldn't be a hack-n-patched version of MIOS...a *new* one :|
