Mac version of NUSD

dang!!!! i was just on the linux website and there are a ton of distributions!! which one is the best?

My favorite is Linux Mint. it's like Ubuntu, but better. lol. Most can be ran straight from the CD as "live-CDs). Mint can.

well i dont want to install anything to the drive so a better question would be what is the best Live-CD Linux?

Personally, I think Mint. many run in CD mode and from there can install to the Hard Drive. For example, Ubuntu, Mint, openSUSE, Mandriva, Fedora, PCLinuxOS. The list goes on.

well i tried the 32-bit version with no luck... will try linux and darwine now...

where can i get darwine for linux?

I JUST WANT TO RUN WINDOWS 7 IN QEMU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's just called Wine. it should be on whatever package manager your Distro is using. what are you using?

i am trying KNOPPIX as it is a live cd version that seemed good. Unfortunately the download is extremely slow and is still going.

Have you got Knoppix running? If so, go to the package manager and install Wine. Then get NUSD. Right-click the .exe and select the wine related option (i think). It should run. do what you need to do.

That's what happens in my Mint system.

well it is still downloading 'bout an hour left of downloading... will post back if i get it working.

mines on about 45 mnutes so mine'll probably be ready before yours

metroid, why are you downloading it if you already have mint?

I want to know what package manager it is has, how to use it
EDIT: can it even use package managers if it's a live-CD?

WOW thanks for the help metroid i really didnt expect anyone to go that far.

it doesn't matter, I have a virtual machine. it lets you virtualise a computer and run an OS in there. i'll edit a snapshot in. nevermind.

well i am trying to burn the knoppix file that i downloaded and i dont know how as it is not a burnable image... im pretty sure i downloaded a knoppix ISO
