yeah the search function only searces the forums try the wiki of wiibrew, i am sure there is something for you penguin loversby SteelSLasher - Coding
menu_render() isnt even a libwiigui function (according to docs) its for the demoby SteelSLasher - Coding
yeah sure lets make a library that can emulate windows 7 on the wii! lol just joking maybe some details would helpby SteelSLasher - Coding
The example uses threading which isnt required, in fact since you know little of C++ i would suggest using aspects from the template to make your app ( the while(1) loop). If you feel adventurous then try the threading (read it up first)by SteelSLasher - Coding
ummm... you need http to download any file via the HTTP protocol, if you have a look at WiiEarth (source) there should be a DNS.c, DNS.h, HTTP.c and HTTP.h. Have a look at the apps source and see how it uses the libs to download pngs from google maps and then use that to download what you want. IMHO i think that HBC should be extendable where it is more similar to iGoogle where widgets can beby SteelSLasher - Coding
Why not just create graphics that could be used such as buttons, pointers, backgrounds etc. and then release via wiibrew, it may not be the best way but it is more efficient since people who need graphics wont be constantly pestering you for individual stuff (unless they actually need it) and will just use what you have made and will probably credit youby SteelSLasher - Coding
just to point out all of those apps mentioned in your post actually work on my 4.0, i just installed IOS60 before updating to allow general homebrew usageby SteelSLasher - The Junkyard
When i tried to insert an image into a window it doesnt compile, will try againby SteelSLasher - Coding
Success but read first post againby SteelSLasher - Coding
thanks for that, also setting it as a windows path, is that by any chance setting a global system variable also while i have your attention, why can't images be inserted into windows as elements (libwiigui) and will a future release involve built in threads or is there some material describing how threads should be used considering a GUI. I am finding it a bit hard to grasp how threads shby SteelSLasher - Coding
I got powerpc-gekko-addr2line working fine now but the bugs it showed were a bit strange. oh ok, thats a shame since i would prefer to use actual docs and tuts. Still, source code still helpsby SteelSLasher - Coding
i might just do that, hopefully libwiigui should help speed up my development how would i reference the objects for each classby SteelSLasher - Coding
thanks for your help, just out of interest was this info available on a wiki site or some tutorialby SteelSLasher - Coding
TP awesome if not short (i beg Nintendo for a GOOD 72 hour Zelda game for Wii)by SteelSLasher - Offtopic
its slower, compiles slower, and i dont like namespaces if only C and C++ could be compiled together as one then my life would be complete, or can that be done (my wrapper failed)by SteelSLasher - Coding
not saying your tools bad or anything, in fact its very good but i feel it complicates using images in homebrew apps since i am used to not having to create header files for my images. so do i do #include < imagefile > or does it include libfatby SteelSLasher - Coding
just cause its homebrew doesnt make it completely unsellable, there's always that loophole in nintendo's EULAby SteelSLasher - Coding
I dont really want to use WiiBuilder to convert my pngs so how can i do it without having to do that, BTW i have put the png converting code snippet into my makefile -> no apparent effectby SteelSLasher - Coding
Yeah but who really has the time to go through applying to be able to make games on a wiiby SteelSLasher - Coding
Thanks i fixed all the other problems that occuredby SteelSLasher - Coding
since you do .net for a living you should know that they are proprierty languages and so it would be pretty difficult to use that to compile wii apps visual basic sucks anyway, c# is alright but seems too ... strange for me. since C and C++ are similar in wording to C# why not choose C to start with and move on to C++. Also, documentation was hard to get for me as well i suggest to start atby SteelSLasher - Coding
This is just strange, try and see whats wrong: #include "GRRLIB/GRRLIB.h" //--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- int main(int argc, char **argv) { //--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- // Initialise the video system GRRLIB_Init(); Here is the error message from the compiler: > "make"by SteelSLasher - Coding
Thanks guys you just saved my bacon, dont expect me to share it! So i just use the files as i would normally do it using libfat without header files for imagesby SteelSLasher - Coding
I was pretty excited when i found libwiigui only to be set back when i had found it was in c++, I have made a wrapper for C++ libs to run in C but its really difficult to implement so I didnt bother. I am now wondering if there are any other gui libs available that can use images as they are without having to convert them (like in GRRLIB). I would try SDL but I cant find any docs for the libogby SteelSLasher - Coding
Looks like hex to me??? I might not bother with SVGs since they only apear on wikiby SteelSLasher - Coding
I hate building the GUI but i love designing it and email sent. I would be glad to have a look at your parser. BTW i am using C not C++ Technically SVG isnt really text but a load of hex values but in HTMLby SteelSLasher - Coding
If you need files larger than 4GB why not split the file into "parts" (file.png.part.01 etc.) and then when using the files add each files data to the one before so you can get 4GB of a file in several smaller filesby SteelSLasher - Coding
I have an idea for a parser (its a bit rough and i got confused with PHP halfway): for(int i=0; i < sizeof(HTML); i++;) { if(!tag) { if(HTML = "<") { var tag = TRUE; //expects tag name next loop } else { //send text to screen } } else { if(isalpha(HTML)) { strcat ( tagname, HTML); } else if(isspace(HTML)) { params = TRUE; } } else if(params) { if(HTML !="/"by SteelSLasher - Coding
