true about the testing, we'll see how it goes, good luck on your projectby SteelSLasher - Coding
i noticed you using SDL, personally i would prefer libwiigui since many gui elements of html can be reproduced in that library, i knew sscanf was doing it didnt know you were helping as well btw, i believe i have found the html parser (just the parser) from firefox but even if it is just the parser a lot customising is still neededby SteelSLasher - Coding
Fixed the exception, it was a sscanf related error, btw i got it to download but thats it for nowby SteelSLasher - Coding
yeah i had a look at wiibrowse but if i can finish all the frontend stuff and if they do the parsing isnt that one browser? Also, they are only working on a parser by looking at the SVN, i should talk with them to see if we should team up or go our own waysby SteelSLasher - Coding
yeah thanks for pointing out those problems but the real problem was calling downloadfile() since it just does not work for some reasonby SteelSLasher - Coding
In the case of metroid prime we could just load the game dol instead of the menu dol and patch the game dol but for the users sake it should be doen via a channel so that people dont freak outby SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
Quotedaniel_c_w QuoteWiiPowerTechnically? Dirty. It loads the main.dol as regular, while storing the information where it was loaded. After finishing the apploader, it clears that data then, loads the other .dol, sets the entrypoint to the one from the other .dol and proceeds as regular. It works for example to jump directly into the game in Metroid Prime 1. Is that the way Wii games, that are spby SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
Yeah to do that we'd have to find out how if the wiispeak mic is returning audio data in an odd format, i mean the large box like shape isnt their for show, it does filtering and some other stuff as well. Also you need a mic that can plug into usb, the ones i have seen are for PS2, someone should test if that works, also we might need to patch the ios which is currently used for wiispeakby SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
Quotedaniel_c_wThe idea is the same: While loading a disc game's executable into memory, patch it. Can be done with a new system menu / IOS Even the biggest patches shouldn't be above 1MB. If nintendo supported the use of USB drives we could patch the executable on the USB drive instead Also, some games such as the metroid prime wii play controls remake might not be able to beby SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
After continuing with my project I now get a consistent error no matter what I do, even if i remove the changes I still seem to get an error. The list addresses in the esception point me to line 383 of gui_window.cpp which is try { _elements.at(i)->Update(t); } catch (const std::exception& e) { } which could be the problem, the exception is probably being given out instead being caughtby SteelSLasher - Coding
or even a teamspeak port to use wiispeakby SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
god nintendo's programmers must be s**t if they cant figure out how to do this, i know they patched the system for wii sports resort but that was something that could be fixed on the system if it couldnt be fixed on the system what would they do. Also, i was thinking that to be able to patch games easily a mass storage of some sort most be plugged in the back, when the game first loads thby SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
I was just reading about HVS trying to fix some glitches in conduit and i was wondering if it would be possible to create a channel that would load the game but also patch the memory in such a way that it fixes the bugs. This has been done on the ds for chinatown wars where an action replay code was used to stop the game freezing when load a save file so i was wondering if it can be done here.by SteelSLasher - Ideas, requests
would this be the correct method: if(trigDown->Down()) { //code to be executed here } Honestly, i just cant seem to figure out how the Down function is used, all i want to do is reposition some text when a button is pressed but i dont know how id deal with several triggers for one elementby SteelSLasher - Coding
I am having some truobles trying to use the GuiTrigger::Down() function. I can't find an app that uses it to use as an example. BTW its in libwiiguiby SteelSLasher - Coding
QuoteDandeI think you've named your file with .c-suffix and you're using the default makefile. Try to rename your file to end with .cpp-suffix, because makefile compiles only them with c++-compiler (If I remember right) Then you should also be able to use normal includes Yeah i should have checked that since this file is a C file where all other files were c++ so its one of thingsby SteelSLasher - Coding
I need a few functions from std::string which arent in the cstring lib. I thought that like normal c++ i would do #include but this led to a not found error so i changed it to #include which worked perfectly but when then the compiler gives me this error error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'namespaceby SteelSLasher - Coding
Testing on Dolphin would be a dream come true for most of us. Any idea why homebrew doesnt work and commercial games do? Maybe we need to do a bit of forgery to make it look like the real deal?by SteelSLasher - Testing Corner
Done that now, and i put my code in a SVN on google codeby SteelSLasher - Coding
i know AerialX has been able to compile some of the boost libs for wii and that he used a tutorial aimed to compiling boost for dsby SteelSLasher - Coding
Sorry about the double posting but i feel this needs to be in a different post I made the edits of the haltgui and resume so the splash function looks like so: static int Splash() { GuiImage Splash; static GuiImageData * SplashImage; SplashImage = new GuiImageData(wiixplore_png); Splash = GuiImage(SplashImage->GetImage(), 452, 228); Splash.SetAlignment(2,5); Splash.SetPosition(0by SteelSLasher - Coding
Isnt if_config called like this: if_config( char *local_ip, char *netmask, char *gateway, boolean use_dhcp); But to get the local ip i need net_init() don't i? EDIT: I just realised that if_config is just below net_init() in my codeby SteelSLasher - Coding
cool thanks for the info, the halting and resuming might explain the flickering and occasional running out of memoryby SteelSLasher - Coding
My summer hols just started the other day and until my preordered special edition of Conduit arrives i thought i could work on some homebrew. So I found my WiiXplore project file and got to work on it, the main focus right now is sorting the GUI. I downloaded libwiigui and used the template as a start on the gui. I wanted to make a splash screen while the networking was getting set up (it oby SteelSLasher - Coding
If i remember right I bought my wii near the end of 2007 and boot2 installation was fine last week. Have you installed any other app that may coincide with bootmii such as an ios or ciosby SteelSLasher - BootMii Beta

I tried to install preloader just a minute ago but i cant read the first (maybe more) line of text and so i have very little idea on what to do. I know pressign '1' makes it do something but i just cant tell. Is there a youtube vid or screenshots showing what actually happens because i cant tell. QuoteArikado@guy above me The twilight hack counts is a hacked savegame. The HBC is a custom (hacked) channel so no it can not be moved from the SD card to the Wii on 4.0 In fact, if you place the HBC on the SD card on 4.0 you will render the HBC useless and put yourself in a position where you must wait for a 4.0 installer in order to get the HBC back on your Wii Menu.
