If you mean you want it to have a better GUI than what is featured in the latest "official" build, then you should look into compiling the source code of eke-eke's latest revision- it features an excellent GUI and Genesis emulation improvements. There's even a few extra features to make it more like a real Genesis, such as cartridge lock-on compatibility (Sonic and Knuckles, Action Replby Rhetoric - Offtopic
I've tried that, and it seems to mess with the functionality of Savegame Manager; none of the savegames appear on the list. When I install the less-than-legal cIOS instead of the Patchmii clone, the app works fine... but like I said, I'd like an alternative if possible. ; )by Rhetoric - Homebrew General
As many of you probably know, the aforementioned homebrew no longer works with the newer HBC. I know of Savegame Manager, but it requires Waninkoko's latest cIOS to be installed and I'm trying to avoid using that at the recommendation of many here. Are there any safer alternatives that are around? I tried searching, but of course most of the results just led me to Savegame Installer / Eby Rhetoric - Homebrew General
Just reporting that Trial 4 worked perfectly for me, and I was having the garbled text crash before. :)by Rhetoric - Testing Corner
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72Do you have any external devices plugged in? Like a USB device or something? Could that cause a problem? I disconnected everything I had plugged in apart from the necessary Wii stuff (there was only a couple of GCN controllers connected before, so I was only using the Wiimote without an attatchment to navigate the menu) before trying it the first time, and still got the crash. QuoteJigenNot sure if its related in any way to the issue with Dop-IOS Mod, but my Wii can't load directly to HBC from Bootmii. It just goes to a garbled mess, though there its a more colorful mess of random pixel while Dop-IOS Mod appears to be a screen full of text that gets all jacked up. Would do the same thing back on 3.2 trying to auto boot to HBC from preloader. Perhaps a problem wby Rhetoric - Testing Corner
QuoteJigenWhen I try and install any IOS the screen goes into a garbled mess, after selecting the IOS and the option about sig. Tried running the application under multiple IOSes and it always happens. Though it even happens for me under v0.6 I have this same problem. My wii is 4.1U with the latest (necessary) IOS versions that can be obtained via Dop-IOS_v8. The Wii locks up while showing a buby Rhetoric - Testing Corner
Okay, I'll look into the "Infectus" brand, then. I have a few more questions though: -Exactly how many blank discs am I gonna need for this? -Do the discs have to be any specific brand or format, or will any disc with enough space do? -I just want to delete the bad WAD. I assume this means none of my other data on my Wii's hard drive is going to be erased, right? -Are thereby Rhetoric - FixMii
Unfortunately, while I was planning on installing BootMii at some point (after reading into how it works a bit more), I never got around to it. Definitely kicking myself for that, but what's done is done. As soon as I find a good Mod Chip (I don't want to spend too much on something I'm going to be using a total of one time) I'll be sure to install it ASAP.by Rhetoric - FixMii
I recently Banner Bricked my wii when trying to install a custom channel for Wii Radio. What happens when your Wii boots up? (How far it gets, does the wiimote work, does the system freeze, go black, etc.) Gets to the Health Menu, then freezes. What Version of the System Menu is installed on the Wii? 4.0U, but with a "safe update" so files are "trucha patched". Is the Homebrew Channeby Rhetoric - FixMii
