I've made a class that lets me create a ball, and lets me add acceleration and change speed and acceleration vectors, but now I'm trying to use what I've got to make a ball orbit a center point. I tried, but it just accerates up. Here is the code for the class: class bullet{ public: bullet(float, float, float, float, float, float); float getX() {return X;} void setX(floaby g_man - Coding

Nevermind, I found that you do need a usb gecko for this to work.by g_man - BootMii Beta
QuoteJacicNow thats ironic: I had to erase my hard drive, re-install windows vista, re-install devkitPro, and now it works fine...Hmm...Thanks anyway everyone. That seems like overkill.by g_man - Coding
If you need help on the basics of wii programming, goto codemii.com, there are some great tutorials there.by g_man - Offtopic
I am trying to make a simple bootmii application using ppcskel, I can compile apps just fine, but the printf function doesn't print anything, but the print_str_noscroll does. Does the printf command not print to the screen, but instead an external device. In the code, gecko_init() is being called, and I haven't deleted any lines of code, but instead just edited them. Thanksby g_man - BootMii Beta
It wouldn't be very hard either, I don't know anything about the network programming part of it, but it just involves downloading a file, and placing it in a folder. I don't belive there is any type of security on game saves.by g_man - Ideas, requests
There are also some nice tutorials on codemii.com. I don't like how they display images, but it is great for getting started with wii development.by g_man - Coding
What system menu do you have. BannerbombV2 will only work on 4.2 wiis. Also for the remote problem, is only the second remote showing up? Otherwise, you might just be missing the P1 controller.by g_man - Getting Started
Not really, The BIOS does run code first DUHH!!!. But, since this code in in ROM. It cannot be edited without flashing it. So, I didn't count. Google messed this up in there video introducing cromium OS. They wrote that the kernel is loaded before the boot loader. LOLby g_man - Ideas, requests
I'm trying to get text to work with FreeTypeGX, but nothing is happening, and the documentation is of much help. When I run my program with the draw text command, the screen just stays black. I thought this error might have been caused from incompatable libs, but even when i use FreeTypeGX from source, it still fails. I have successfully used the wrapper that Arikado keeps telling people toby g_man - Coding
If I'm reading the wiki correctly, i believe that the wii has 64Mb + 24Mb of avalible ram, so not much :(by g_man - Ideas, requests
Is this actually possible? I don't think you could call it an operating system, unless it was some of the first code booted. An operating system should run before any other code does. If the wii's operating system code starts, then what is the point. You shouldn't worrie about creating an operating system, which is extreamly hard(trust me, I trying), but instead just useful programby g_man - Ideas, requests
fixed it, kinda. Instead of supplying a LayerManager in the object, i made the user supply one. This way it is much more useful.by g_man - Coding
Ok, sorry about that, here is the whole object definition. class buttonObj{ public: void setMessage(char* m){ strcpy(msg,m); } char* getMessage(){ return msg; } void setLocation(int X,int Y){ x=X; y=Y; } int getX(){ return x; } int getY(){ return y; } void setDim(int w,int h){ width = w; height = h; } int getWidth(){ returnby g_man - Coding
Thanks, i hate stupid mistakes, but i think i have another one. While trying to create a LayerManager in my object, it stopped working. This time I'm 99% sure it isn't a typo, because i coppied it directly from the example, here is the line: LayerManager manager(1); Here are the errors: :/homebrew/buttonTest/source/template.cpp:82: error: expected identifier before numeric constanby g_man - Coding
I'm trying to create an object that would allow me to easily create buttons in libwiisprite, but i'm having some problems. Here is my code: enum BUTTON_COLOR{WHITE,RED,BLUE,CYAN,GREEN}; class button{ public: void setMessage(char* m){ strcpy(msg,m); } char* getMessage(){ return msg; } void setLocation(int X,int Y){ x=X; y=Y; } int getX(){ retuby g_man - Coding
Thats not confusing at all. But thats probably because I am a computer guy.by g_man - Coding
Thanks, i was going to try rebulilding those from source next. Also, if it uses the same source code, what would change in documentation it wouldn't be anything in the classes, would it?by g_man - Coding
Try the device in a computer, make sure you can read and write to directories, but adding a directory should corrupt you SIM. Don't take my word for this, and i'd avoid using apps that write to the SD too much, but i'd think you'd be fine. Also, if something doesn't work AT&T will mostlikly restore your sim card for you.by g_man - Getting Started
make sure your using the newest version of bannerbomb, the previous version doesn't work for 4.2. Read here I can't help you much on the error(I installed using the twilight hack), but the wiki has a vast ammount of information in it.by g_man - Getting Started
Read the wiki, read the sections on the homebrew channel, and i'd recomend downloading the homebrew browser, with it you don't have to worrie about placing your files correctly.by g_man - Getting Started
So I reinstalled devkitpro on my usb stick, so that i could take my apps on the go, and work on them at differen't places. And i can't access my hard drive with my previous homebrew stuff on it, so it is a fresh installation. I tried making a quick demo using the HOMEbrew menu, and i'm getting a linking error. When i take out the line that calls the HOMEbrew menu everything worksby g_man - Coding
when are you getting this maeesage. updating shouldn't have done anything. is the game a nintendo games or homebrew?by g_man - Getting Started
AI (artificial intelligence) can be very hard to program in a game. the developer problaly hasn't gotten around to it yet.by g_man - Ideas, requests
I'm not sure if it is the same on the wii, and I'm guessing it's not, but OS development to write text to the screen you write to memory address 0xb8000 the first byte is the ASCII of the character, and the next byte is the backgroud color. The color is very specific, and not the same as an 8-bit.by g_man - Coding
We should use the mongoose, I don't even know what it is, but it sounds cool, which means it is cool.by g_man - Offtopic
I know about the great, easy to use, image libraries for the wii, like libwiisprite. But What should I use when I develope for windows, or linux. What is an easy to use library for windows or linux.by g_man - Offtopic
