Crap! This is exciting, in some way, but also scary... Now Nintendo can do automatic updates on Wii? (At least that is what the new Wii Privacy Policy saids...)by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
Huahuahauahauahuaha... (Really, how works a frame grabber? I'm noob on coding, but I'm learning C right now, and, uhhh, this sounds interesting to trying to do and to keep on a SD card that auto-formats itself :P )by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
OK... Are you serious???????? I can't believe it... Fine, stay calm... Do you have Twilight Hack installed and a original copy of Zelda? Do you have (money for a) SaveMii?by DanielHueho - FixMii
Well... I don't know if the guy is joking with people or something, but this is a very interesting thread, after all. OK, video recording is kind of hard, but what about plain and no-motioning screen capture? I like to take screenshots of cool moments in the games, but taking a photo from a camera doesn't work very well...by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
This topic shouldn't be alive anymore. DIE, TOPIC, DIE! Just kidding :P OK... I have two more questions: 1. Is the health warning screen a HTML file? 2. If the answer for the previous question is "yes", is there any way to "tweak" the SYSCONF, to trick the System Menu into grabbing a different "health warning" screen? Absolutely pointless, but well, just a thought.by DanielHueho - FixMii
Huhhhhh, did I said something wrong?by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
/\ /\ Yes, this is possible. Do you know how works Twilight Hack? In the same way you can create a apploader that runs from the "X" game save file, you can create a vĂrus and similars... But first you need to find an useable exploit on "X" to do it... So, it's possible, but really complicated.by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Hmmmmm, I almost sure you need to have some advanced programming knowledge to code a compiler... :P Anyway, I'm giving a shot on C language... Just to know what exactly happens when I type "make" on the terminal...by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Dude, compilling is exactly the fun part!!!! (It's actually the only part I known XD)by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Nintendo have no reasons to brick a softmodded Wii. They "just" will block homebrew, but their commercial software will continue to work. Homebrew is important to us, but most Wii owners doesn't care with it at all, just with their games, and so Nintendo... QuoteI think once Nintendo starts updating 3.4 Wiis whenever they want, someone here will find out how they are doing so, and find aby DanielHueho - Homebrew General
Wow, this sounds really cool. I'm downloading NOW (although is very unlikely this thing runs smooth...) EDIT: hmmm, I need a USB keyboard... Well, comes easy, goes easier :Pby DanielHueho - Homebrew General
1. Read Bootmii article on both Wiibrew wiki and Hackmii blog 2. Bootmii is entirely software-based. The installation will be pretty much similar to HBC.by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
I'm also interested in downgrading my Wii... But I'm kinda unsure of this... I have 3.3Uv1 (didn't updated with 23Oct or 3.4U)... Does AnyRegion Changer works for downgrading to 3.2U? (I want to install Starfall) EDIT: tona updated the app! Thanks!by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Hmm... For some reason, this looks like a video issue... Anyway, are you using a official or an unofficial build (i.e r300 or bg4545 build) ?by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
You can't. Cheat codes + online games: fail.by DanielHueho - Offtopic
@TheManuel O.K. (note almost all Wii emulators are open-source) @strongfan Quotesrtongfanthat's the equivalent of $5. But what I mean is, each game comes with a different emulator. Ocarina of Time comes with a different emulator than Mario 64. This wasts memory. Nintendo COULD have one emulator on the consol(per system) and then each VC game would be just a ROM, but they suck so much atby DanielHueho - Homebrew General
QuoteTheManuel What kind of business sense would it make to pay the author of an emulator for every game that gets downloaded in the virtual console when they can program their own? Well, in my point of view, when you buy a VC game at Shop Channel, you're not paying only for the game (ROM), but also for the emulator itself. And IMHO, although using an homebrew emulator is good, it's eby DanielHueho - Homebrew General
Saving progress to the NAND doesn't have anything to do with banner brick... But yeah, I prefer the saves in the SD card rather than messing around with the internal memory. Still, is a cool feature. The emu even supports loading ROMS from the NAND. When the emulator gets done, this will be a really useful feature for some people.by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Stupid question: did you installed make using repositories, or it was already installed? Maybe updating the app helps...by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
Wii homebrew coding requires at least some basic knowledge of C++...by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
@DrLucky Change the topic's name for "WiiSX rev 57" or something like that. You know, just to be updated :Pby DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Wow, r57? I missed that... Oh, well, personally I don't think is really worth testing: most of the changes are related to the sound plugin. That's good, of course, but probably there's no much performance improvement..., well, maybe there is... Tested:Ace Combat 2 (ripped .bin, with no sound track) First of all, the game boots! And doesn't freezes! And plays fine, around 2by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
QuotemarcanThe data isn't recorded backwards. That's a retarded myth that never seems to die. It's a lie. Go to hell, Wikipedia!!!! Thanks for explanation, marcan.by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
QuoteDrLuckyI don't see how DVDx isn't a big important issue. Isn't it necessary for all apps (like emulators) to read from the DVDs? Yeah... But hey, the emulators don't refuse to run just because DVDX it's not there. Think it as a plugin, used by the applications. It's optional. Personally, I don't use most apps DVD features, although I have the stub installby DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
It's is a special disc. Technically is similar to the DVD, but the main difference is the way how the media is read. The Wii drives reads the disc starting from the edge and going to the disc center. This kind of media can't be recorded or read using ordinary hardware. So, a homemade backup is an identical data copy... But physically, it's completely different. The Wii disc drive iby DanielHueho - Homebrew General
Not a license expert, but you I think can use wiiuse IF you release your project's source code to the buyers. At least this is how GPL works...by DanielHueho - Offtopic
Check Hackmii blog. DVDX it's not a priority now. Although if you have only the 23Oct update, you can downgrade your Wii to make the installation possible (which it's not really recommended)by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Personally I think the LiveCD idea is great... But it's dependent from drivechip. Anyway, remember Wiigator loader is pretty much a hacked version of GeckoOS.by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Man... Laws are laws. It's unfair, but it's the life. Nintendo is trying to keep their money, and they want to protect themselves form piracy. Let's say homebrew was on the middle oh the bullet track... "Rebbellion" it's not my style, but if you want a free-to-develop system, try GP2X, because no other next-gen console have such advanced homebrew as Wii have.by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
