That would be great. Very very helpful. Thank you. I will send these to you shortly. EDIT: Sent Betwiin process appears to have finished successfully, although I am not quite sure how to tell. It sat processing for a long time regularly updating the screen during each file, then the console window closed but did not display any errors. Should it have presented something different? Hi Vola, thanks for all your help. Sorry I didn't quite understand the info about the byte positions in the other thread, I just got a little confused by the context :) as detailed here I've followed the same steps as you did and replaced the 0 - E7A60 with the data from a previous working dump, along with having modifed the console ID section of the keys.bin before appending itby CIsor - FixMii
QuotevolaLittle confusion there, maybe You have 2 different version of bootmii on the consoles. I think that is probably right :-) Quotevolainput/flash.bin --- complete 553,648,128 byte file nand.bin from donor image OK input/nand-hmac ---- genereted from source image? EXTRACT FROM DONOR KEYS.BIN input/nand-key ---- generated from source image? EXTRACT FROM DONOR KEYS.BIN input/keys.binby CIsor - FixMii
QuotevolaPay attention at beta3 backups, in this case you have 2 files a nand.bin and keys.bin. Just extract the key and hmac from keys.bin. In this case also nand.bin doesn't contain the keys, check the size must be 553,648,128 bytes without key footer and 553,649,152 with key footer. Ah, thanks for that. I'm a little surprised to see that my donor is 553,648,128 b whilst my ownby CIsor - FixMii
QuoteTopGun96Are you using the bootmii beta 3? yes I am. CIsorby CIsor - FixMii
Quotevola the files must contains the key and hmac of your console (output directory) and for the donor console (input directory). You have to extract these keys from the bootmii backup. read this post for locate the data: and Thanks for the info. I've had a quick glance at those posts and I think they will help me. Thank you. I'll let you know how I get on.by CIsor - FixMii
thanks for the reply. Can you explain what should be in the nand-key and nand-hmac? I can't find much detailed documentation of this Thank you CIsorby CIsor - FixMii
Good Afternon everyone, I hope you guys can help me here. Following on from my problems detailed here I have come to the stage where I want to flash my Wii to an image of a friends, then hopefully I'll be able to play my SNES emulator off DVDs again. Story so far: Got a dump from a suitable donor wii. (matching boot1 & 2 versions) Got the last 1024 bytes from my own wiby CIsor - FixMii
Sounds like identical symptoms to my problems discussed here and here As yet, I haven't foud a fix. All the things I've tried have failed :( All the fixes I have tried are basically around reinstalling DVDx, but it just seems to have been totally broken :(by CIsor - Getting Started
On the assumption that you have the Homebrew Channel installed, these steps will get you back to the HackMii DVDx install page 1) Download HackMii Installer 2) Create a folder under "apps" on you SD card called "HackMiiInst" 3) Extract "installer.elf" to the folder you just created. 4) Rename "installer.elf" to "boot.elf" 5) Put the SD card back in the Wii 6) Go to the Homebrew Channelby CIsor - Homebrew Applications
MUCH MORE DETAILS: I've tried removing DVDx using the BootMii installer. Still broken Tried reinstalling through BootMii nistaller. Still Broken. Tried burning a new DVD. Still broken. The system update blanked my SD card. I restored this on the PC. The ROMS DVD I had worked fine before the update. Original Gamecube and Wii discs work fine. Backup Wii discs also work fine. I didn't think the chip was likely to be the culprit. Glad someone else thinks so too. Thinking about it a little more now, I'm only 70% sure DVDx was installed previously. Would my drive chip have completely negated the need for this? I think I remember seeing that it was already there when I installed BootMii* for the first time. So I think I would have used the DVDx Installerby CIsor - Homebrew Applications
No luck with removing DVDx. Also tried reinstalling from the boot mii installation again but it's not working. Tried an original gamecube disc last night. Mario sunshine worked fine. I also tried Mplayer and geexbox. Both attempt to read DVD and spin up the disc but fail. They don't give any error message. Any further suggestions from anyone out there?by CIsor - Homebrew Applications
Thanks for the quick replies. I will give it a go without DVDx installed. I don't think it's the modchip, but to be honest I haven't tried it with an original disc for ages as they are all packed in the garage since moving house. Can anyone suggest any other applications which should be able to read from DVD file system which I could use to test? Maybe it's just theby CIsor - Homebrew Applications
EDIT TO ADD MUCH MORE DETAILS: Hi Guys, not sure if this is the right place to be posting about this, but if not could you point me in the right direction please? I have a PAL wii, bought 10 months ago and chipped with D2Pro. I recently updated to 4.1 from 3.3E and have had a couple of problems. Firstly, the SD card was wiped. I don't know if this is normal behaviour but I managedby CIsor - Homebrew Applications
