@lucjon It's like Ryu came and tornado kick'd all over your files. XDby ChReNiC - Homebrew General
@dtenen: Is your Wii ported to play NTSC games? That could be the problem.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
@Arikado Well, either my Gecko OS is outdated or something happened because it didn't offer to install the updates.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
Lies. Some games Wii Sports Resort for Ex. can't play without updates, EVEN when they are run on Gecko OS. They will give a blue screen Saying something like: QuoteError #002Please remove the disc and turn off your Nintendo Wii. For more information, refer to the Wii's Operation Manualby ChReNiC - Homebrew General
Ok, I did the 4.1 1/2 update, and let me tell you, The fail rate is more like 1 in 1,000,000,000 The update is incredibly fast. Less than two minutesby ChReNiC - Homebrew General
Ok, got ya, what I meant with Success was making it to the Goal on itself, unrelated to the Ice.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General

I meant old IDs, like HAXX for HBC and DVDX for, well, DVDX.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
Is there any other way to bypass the update? I mean i have no problem with using Gecko OS but it can get really annoying having to boot it up every single time I want to play NSMBWii. (Or any new games for that matter.)by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
@Kirby: Trying the NSMBWii Update tonight. Here's to hoping.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General

QuoteArikadoThe 1-in-1000 chance only applies to the boot2 update[ I guess someone missed the In respect to boot2: part And I never said that the percentage is the cause. Unless, you say the 1 is power outage, or internet failure, etc. But thanks anyway.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
Here's a simpler, user-friendly version of the problem: Updating to 4.2 or, as I call it, 4.11/2 (the NSMBWii update) is practically jumping over fire. Clown = You and your Wii Start = 4.1 and lower Fire = Update Old Homebrew and other hacks = Ice New Homebrew and other hacks = Rocks Goal = 4.2 or 4.11/2 Now here's the problem. The Clown jumps from the Start to the Goby ChReNiC - Homebrew General
You are saying safe with or without including the 1-in-1000 chance of bricking, right?by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
I'm looking for an user-friendly explanation on this. Here's what I've understood so far: The 4.2 Update will: Download and Install updates in this order: -boot2* (to boot2v4) -IOS of the new system menu* -A new system menu.* -Everything else *: If the update fails on any of these three parts, say bye-bye to your Wii, if the update fails on anything else, expect sby ChReNiC - Homebrew General
In effect, this update is just everything that had helped bricking without the harmless things.by ChReNiC - Homebrew General
