Ah well, for me it first asks: Which IOS would you like to use to install other IOSes? IOS: 36 Scan the Wii's internals (SysCheck) Exit IOS36 is pre-selected. I can change it to whatever I want. If I leave it at 36 the app will soon hang, but if I change it to 58 first it works perfectly. After you select the IOS it goes: You have AHBPROT available for use. Right on, thanks again Sif! That totally clears up my confusion about the difference between the WiiBrew edition and the other edition which will no longer be named heh heh. Wow so 4.3 is OK now huh? Things have changed since I last checked in. Still, I guess I'll stick with 4.2 at least until 4.4 comes out and see what that version has to offer, if anything. Meantime, I'm gonna upby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
All right! Thanks Sif. That mostly clears up my confusion about the difference between the WiiBrew version and the standard version. But are there any other differences in functionality besides the lack of support for IOS patching, or is that really it? Now that I no longer have any need for patched IOSs, can I safely restore IOS15, 36, and 202 (I think that was all of them) to non-cIOS verby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
Greetings, it's been a while since I've checked out the Wii Homebrew scene. I was really into it last summer but haven't kept up on it much since. Last night I got around to updating my apps and everything homebrew on my Wii, which was easy to do for most of it with Homebrew Browser. But a few apps I have aren't available on HBB so I have to update them manually. One ofby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
QuoteTiMeBoMb01. Wii gets stuck at black screen (seems to only happen if you have delay set to 0). 02. Loading from SD Menu is broken for some users. 03. Some USB HD's are not recognized. 04. Trying to return to Wii System Menu sometimes returns to HBC instead. 05. Some people are reporting booting issues with Priiloader. 06. QuoteICEingLooks great IMO. They should...have a selection of skins altogether. Still would like to be able to have custom music in the HBC but thats not much of a big deal. Agreed! Quotecactusjack901 Yeah, I was unsure at first, but I've grown to love it, I'm just not looking forward to making new icons EDIT: Especially since I have no photo manipulation software on here right nowby Iwatasan - Homebrew General
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you need a fakesigned IOS (Trucha Bug) in order to install any custom IOS (cIOS) such as IOS202 for DVD/USB 2.0 support. Read about DOP-Mii.by Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
SifJar: My humble apologies. I know WiiBrew wiki was enough for me. I didn't run into that site until well after I had most things figured out, but it has proved to be quite useful since then, since it is free and provides straightforward instructions about installing many different Homebrew apps. I don't run any cIOSes or backup games on my Wii, but you're right, the site hasby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
I've also been able to watch full Family Guy episodes on WiiMC. I don't know how or why it works or where it comes from though, as I'm very behind the times when it comes to streaming media, internet radio, podcasts, RSS and that sort of thing. Maybe someone on here could explain how WiiMC's online media player works for those of us less...in-the-know?by Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
Cadeyrn: I'm not sure what fail tool you're talking about...maybe a cIOS installer? You don't need that for the TBR. SifJar's point is the only thing you NEED a cIOS installer for is to play pirated games, which is illegal, which if openly discussed on this forum can get the site owners in legal trouble. I am saying that DVDs will "play," but because of the awful playback, I would never sit through an entire movie. Imagine watching a movie where either the audio sounds like a robot in 100x slo-mo, or the audio sounds normal but is completely out of sync with the video. It is painful to watch. I would certainly never invite my friends over to watch a movie on it. I am also interested to find oby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
I can't seem to get HBL running on System Menu 4.2... I tried loading it with HBC and with Bannerbomb but I just get a black screen. IOS issue? Anyone know what IOS this uses?by Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
I got WiiMC because I was impressed by Tantric's FCE Ultra, Snes9xGX, and VBA GX apps. WiiMC is just as user friendly with just as good of a settings menu and GUI. The online media player is really cool. I haven't messed around with the video player or music player yet but I'm sure they're cool too. The picture viewer doesn't really compare to the Photo Channel thoughby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
HBL may be out dated, but does the current version of HBC support custom translations, custom skins, or have a GUI that looks like the System Menu? HBL source is available here. Maybe someone can use it to make the HBC look better, huh?by Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
Can anyone set me straight on the differences between Homebrew Launcher v1.0 and Homebrew Channel v1.0.6? Here's what I know so far: HBL: Much better looking (at least, more Wii-ish) GUI than HBC, but no Wiimote support HBC: Only lists 4 apps at a time, but has the superior advantage of Wiimote support I haven't installed HBL because I have HBC, so I'm not too familiar wiby Iwatasan - Homebrew Applications
