I get others to test my programs on wii, or I just work very carefully, I'm not particularly rich at the moment, so no, I don't plan on purchasing a wii any time soon.by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
I don't own a wii, I've never programmed for it before a week ago, so no.by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
Haha, I'll add the libwiisprite tutorials I've done to a thread here (pdf) then once I'm done with all of them I'll post them on the wiki and let the admin take care of the rest. Edit: I've done the first few lessons,I've uploaded to a temporary server (send space) I'll leave it up until I've finished. this is version 0.1a. Its still being edited and modby WiiPhlex - Offtopic
I can try, but I don't know much about the wii archetecture sorry, I don't even know how many cores it has..by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
It's fairly noob stuff, but wait for the next release of Libwiisprite, theres a bunch of awsome!!! features in it.by WiiPhlex - Offtopic
Usually I keep the graphics and physics frame rates seperate for smoother looking game play, this can be achieved by multi threading an application. The most common way to see this in action is hundereads of objects falling into water, the water is smooth as it is graphics related and (in this case) not effected by the objects , where as all of the objects, are moving much slower as they update tby WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
Ohk, I'm up to page 28 so far of the tutorial, just bear with me a little longer, I'll release some of the lessons and continue with more tomorow hopefully.by WiiPhlex - Offtopic
sorry, just copied over the words :p doesn't count the brackets.by WiiPhlex - Coding
I've made it so that its fairly easy to use in any graphics library, even Libwiisprite, I'll do a small sample in GX to demonstrate it on wii and release the source as well, although I can't test it in GX as I don't own a wii or TV.by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
Yeah change it to something like void DrawableImage::MakeTransparent(int r, int g, int b, u8 a){ height = GetHeight(); Width = GetWidth(); for(int y = 0; y < height(); y++){ for(int x = 0; x < width(); x++){ if(CheckPixel(x, y, r, g, b, a)) SetPixel(x, y, r, g, b, a); } } }by WiiPhlex - Coding
GX is similar to all of the other 3D Graphics API's, there are a few lessons, well examples with lots of comment, in devKit Pro in the graphics section of examples in the wii folder in the examples folder... can't miss them...by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
Would take some work, thats for sure, but its all running on a kernel that does half the work for you, I've built a linux and worked on the fedora project, and I have learned a lot about creating something that does all sorts or things. In the time frame we have, it may be difficult to get it to a state where there a few or no bugs in it. That would not be the beginning of an os, its just aby WiiPhlex - Coding
I'll release some of the particle engine classes soon so people can use GX with it.by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
several of the functions here do nothing...by WiiPhlex - Coding
Currently there is no full text support in the Libwiisprite, usually for a menu, programmers will use an image then use raw2c on it to convert it to a constant array of unsigned chars, then load from buffer like so: if(image.LoadImage(imageInMemory) != IMG_LOAD_ERROR_NONE)exit(0); You could go behind the scenes and inject a ttf directly into your program using GX.by WiiPhlex - Coding
Seems to be coming along nicely, well done.by WiiPhlex - Coding
Programmers not pad is part of the IDE, it makes it much easier to write then compile your programs.by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
I will likely use some of the free optimized vector classes and some of the collision resolution is fine as it is, but other than that most of it will be from scratch.by WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
Currently I'm very flexable on my decision, although I had a game in mind, create a simple retro style 2D game similar in ways to manic miner, or create something a little more interesting, say a physics demo or create a photon tracer for the wii. I'm also very open to others ideas when it comes to selecting a project, there is still a lot of planning to do as well, so it doesn't bby WiiPhlex - Coding
For wii, alot of people download the devKit pro (see here for tutorial - here. Also, some people chose to use Linux and its bash shell which will usually always include the GCC compiler if you install correctly. If you are on windows and want to use the GCC compiler, download cygwin here and install it though the internet. There are also several libraries avaliable for download to aid in softwareby WiiPhlex - Homebrew General
Perhaps post the source...by WiiPhlex - Coding
When you have done the class post it here and I'll tell you if it needs anything else.by WiiPhlex - Coding
ok, hopefully by tomorow I will have the first part done.by WiiPhlex - Offtopic
Ohk where do you want me to post them, I will to a few.by WiiPhlex - Offtopic
Would you like me to do a series of sprite lib tutorials?by WiiPhlex - Offtopic
I would like to enter the Wii programming competition hosted by TehSkeen ( full info here ). Although from my experience, these work better with 2 people than any other, so if any one would like to colaborate with me on enter a piece of software that meets the competition guide lines, then post here and I'll look into it. Oh and the competition deadline is 15th October if I recall correctby WiiPhlex - Coding
Do you know what the two initilize functions actually do to the hardware, and specifically the wiimote.by WiiPhlex - Coding
Dykam wants a tutorial for the sprite lib and LOLDSFAN wants one for just learning how to get set up and running, what do you want?!by WiiPhlex - Offtopic
A always stands for a sometimes they write is as XRGB, this means that alpha stays constant at 255 while the other colours in the colour mode are variable. I don't think it would be hard at all, I wrote a small colour key from scratch that checks only a 32 bit colour display. It moves through the red of a pixel, if it == 250 it moves to the next (green), if green == 0 then it checks the nextby WiiPhlex - Coding
I prefer working with bitmap (not interlaced), I don't know a lot about programming with png interms of bitwise manipulations.by WiiPhlex - Coding
