...*sigh*....okay, so I've come back for some MORE help now, lol. So I got a drivekey and installed it and burned ATD on a disk and converted it to autoboot......but nothing happens still. I've tried SavemiiFrii'ing it, and it just sits there with the menu version number in the corner. I'm at a loss here....and for further reminder, I'm modding for the sole purpose of reclby TenbatsU - FixMii
Quotedaniel_c_wQuoteGodofrock72This is making me laugh uncontrollably. I get a private message from a mod and my topic closed for mentioning that my purpose for using Geck OS is for backups, but you guys have posted like 5 replies related to modchips! Anyways, aren't modchips illegal? We are not talking about Backups here, thats why the thread is still safe. Correct. I've never bby TenbatsU - FixMii
Found 2 different chip types....any one in particular you guys recommend for the purpose I need it for? 1) 2) I'm leaning towards the 2nd, as it has update blocks for import games....which would be a nice fail safe. But If I'm missing something, let me know. Thanks guys....by TenbatsU - FixMii
I assume you're referring to a mod chip? So I want to find one that doesn't autochange the region on boot because it causes problems with an autoboot correct? And why is a modchip necessary to get things to work now? Does it disable some system function by being installed, or does it allow a "side-step" so-to-speak? And is the installation of said chip idiot-proof, or should I have somby TenbatsU - FixMii
------------------UPDATE--------------------- Okay, so I've figured out what ATD was, and this is what I've done so far, to still no success.... -Dl'ed ATD -Converted ATD files to an ISO image -Modified the ISO with the Wii Autoboot Creator and set it to "automatic" -Burned it to a DVD -Put disc in my Wii -Booted with a BootMii (GC controller) -The screen sitsby TenbatsU - FixMii
Okay, what's an ATD autoboot? Walk me through how to get one/make one, and do I have to get a mod-chip installed for any of this? If so, is there a reputable webite/person you could direct me towards as I'm almost positive that if I try to install a chip myself I'll end up destroying my Wii forever, lol. Thanks for the pointing in the right direction! Here's some more stuff Iby TenbatsU - FixMii
Since that Wii was at 4.0, do I pretty much have to wait for the next update then? And how will I know which games have the newer 'upgrades' on them?by TenbatsU - FixMii
There was a "no downsides" downgrade listed on the Gecko OS Link Removed site by one of the mods I think, so I tried it, and it didn't work for me the first time, so I tried something different the second time because the wording on step 7 was weird in context when I was doing it, and the screen when black, I waited about 10 mins, reset the system, and ka-blooey, system files corrupt. =(.by TenbatsU - FixMii
Hey, tried that, no good. So now it says to look into BootMii....but don't I already need that installed in my HBC to get that to work? I guess if I can't BootMii I'll have to put in a drivechip then? ......Goddaamned MH3 demo has turned into the bane of my existence....grrrrr.......If it wasn't for the hundreds of hours of savegame files on my Hard drive, I wouldn't be tby TenbatsU - FixMii
I've pickled myself here. I import a lot of JP games and use my HBC solely for region free purposes. So I haven't been able to get my Monster Hunter3-Tri demo to play on my Wii, and through my personal vendetta to get it to work....I bricked my Wii. Since I HBC only for region free gaming, I'm 100% ignorant to all other technical aspects of homebrew at the moment. I believe I'by TenbatsU - FixMii
Damn, looks like I'm Shit outta' luck here. Any of you guys that go the imported MH3 demo have this problem? Any ideas of things I can try to remedy this? I've tried loading it on the most recent Gecko OS, the previous Gecko OS, the Gecko region free, and trying to boot it from a menu reboot, but no success. The closest I get is with the most recent Gecko, it loads to the screen whby TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
So I recently imported Monster Hunter G starter, and that works fine in Gecko, yet when I try to load the Monster Hunter 3Tri demo, it cuts to a black screen and freezes. What's up with this?! Any ideas as what's going on? Thanks for all the help you guys give me on this board, I really appreciate it.by TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
Yup, that did it! thanks so much....I can be a bone head sometimes!by TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
How do I DL through HBC? I've tried it before, but I don't think I'm doing it right, cause' nothing happens. I thought the problem was with 4.0 because from what I've been reading, new apps DL'ed into HBC after 4.0 won't work, and I need to download the new Gecko to get Monster Hunter to workby TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
Hey guys and gals, I got a problem, I've had the HBC installed for a while now, and I use it solely for region free gaming, as I'm a big import gamer. So I've played other import games before with no problem.....until today >_<. I bought Monster Hunter G and was uber excited to play it....and I get slapped with an "Error #002" message when I try to load it with gecko. Mby TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
Thanks for the help guys! Does Gecko OS work for GC imports as well? I should be getting TvC by Monday here, and the only other import games I have are for my GC, so I was wondering if I could see if everything's working before the game gets here. The conversion to .dol worked, THANKS! but when I tried to load my GC import, it froze after loading a buncha' numbers, so I'm assumingby TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
I tried using the search function as well as scouring other sites and can't seem to get a straight answer to this question: I BADLY want Tatsunoko VS Capcom and currently have a US Wii. My girlfriend updated to 3.4 when she used WiiFit >_<. I adapted and installed the HBC via the TwilightHack, but here's the rub: my Gecko OS says it's not an applicable Wii program, and theby TenbatsU - Homebrew Applications
