Yeah zero here, a friend had about 20 but his kids are on the wii almost 24-7by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Isn't the HBC installed as a channel on the wii. Therefore to make it run from the sd card would be giving warez people a way to load wads etc from bootmii?by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Quoteflyguyi have bootmii beta 2, 4.0 wii, and HBC 1.0.3 was wondering what would happen if i installed preloader and loaded bootmii would there be conflicts with bootmii and preloader? thanks Your asking the same question the original poster asked, read the replies.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Uninstall Beta2 then install beta 1 keep the files from that then install beta 2 over beta 1. Shouldn't take all that long.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
SD cards are given a grade of either 2, 4, or 6. The higher grade being the faster the card, also card memory and speed degrade over time and use so newer cards will generally be faster.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
So it wont even boot if you delete the bootmii folder from your sd card and allow the wii to boot up normally without bootmii initializing?by niko86 - BootMii Beta
If the boot2 is backed up with the restoremii feature of bootmii, it may then be possible for someone to send you a dump to use or at least part of one if possible.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
QuoteoswadeKinda on topic... Will libogc SDHC code be updated to rely on nintendos SDHC compatable IOS (>=IOS60/61 etc), or will it keep the same hackish method that works with older IOS'? Probably the same method used previously. I believe nintendo's implementation of SDHC support isn't vastly dissimilar to how SDHC support was implemented within homebrew code.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
You can't just take a nand dump from your wii to another using bootmii. The dump is dependent on your keys etc of your wii. I guess its technically possible to change the data within the dump so that no conflicts occur with checks on the data within the nand. Then it could work. I'm not certain if bootmii also includes a backup of boot2 in the nand dump but if it does you also wouby niko86 - BootMii Beta
It'll work fine without it.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Im sure such an important feature of bootmii was well tested before release. I've seen a few posts and youtube vieos of people using the feature. As for speed of restore it's probbaly going to depend somewhat on the speed of your memory card, seems to take approximately 7 minutes on a video on youtube.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Just wait out the black screen bootmii will load eventually. There are some bugs effecting card speed on boot, if you dont want bootmii to boot either backup the bootmii folder from the sd card to a pc then remove the folder from the sd card. Or dont have the card inserted when the wii is booting.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
QuoteDFA_Any help on this issue? I'm sorry if I come across as annoying, but the idea of entirely losing HBC is really worrying =/ I'm not sure what 4.0 would do but the official nintendo update is likely to do things to try and limit homebrew use. Perhaps it writes over HBC? Best bet would be to backup your nand before updating if it stops anything from working recover your nand backby niko86 - BootMii Beta
Seeing as it has no access to hardware through IOS Team Twiizers will have to create drivers etc to use the networking of the wii.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
The bootmii verifies the backup as an option after you complete the backing up process. Same as normal, maybe a touch longer nothing you'd notice. Its a lol catz joke :D ... i hope ;pby niko86 - BootMii Beta
Quotemagu What we would need here, methinks, is just backup of the keys. Then use some MINI-using Any Region Changer-clone that: (1) Wipes the Wii, (2) Injects the new key info into the right places, (3) Reinstalls System Menu and all IOS:es from Nintendos servers. If this would work it would save the inevitable cries of people who lose nand backups etc and no way to recover. I guess it woby niko86 - BootMii Beta
Its a platform to run MINI from. "Mini Is Not IOS -- but it is a limited replacement that can fulfill many low-level tasks that IOS might interfere with. " Alot of work is still going on making MINI usable for developers.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
QuoteTiMeBoMb So, no. It is not in the NAND. It's stored in a special area on the nand. Blocks 1-7 are boot2, Block 1 is boot1 i think.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
He obviously wont have bootmii installed to boot2 and a backup so right now nothing until he can sort out this brick. Then if he succeeds he (if his wii is compatible) installed bootmii to boot2 and backup his nand, and store it away for future events like this.by niko86 - FixMii
Its a confirmed issue can find its progress hereby niko86 - BootMii Beta
Yes, you can install it as an IOS without it overwriting any over major cIOS's out there, it installs as IOS 254. DVDx I think goes where ever patchmii has been installed to, which if i remember right is IOS254 also. Once you have installed Bootmii as IOS maybe install DVDx again. I've used to the boot2 install so not 100% sure.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Quotediffikolt However, if there was a bad block located where a VITAL file was located, wouldn't your Wii not load regardless? I see what you mean with your original reply. Yet if you had an old nand backup. Then a bad block appears corrupting a vital file you would assume you could restore the brick with the nand backup. But you can because the file that was damaged cant be restoredby niko86 - BootMii Beta
I'm guessing that the bluetooth hardware is power on in some sort of simple way while the wii is in standby. Programmed to electronically switch the wii on when it receives a specific signal To copy this you probably would need to buy your own chip and program it ... way beyond my tiny computer knowledge >_<by niko86 - Hardware
Generation of a new nand file structure within the wii something thats ever been looked into? I'd guess its probably all down to working out how nintendo generates them on an individual basis using each machine individual keys.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
QuotediffikoltGreat question. I'm assuming the chances of the bad blocks being the location of what is causing the brick will be slim to none, so even if it can't write to that area, it should still recover the Wii. Also assuming NAND degradation is the same with any product...different with each and every NAND. I don't think you totally get what i mean. I know all nands wonby niko86 - BootMii Beta
Quotejabce85boot2, want me to give the other way a try? No just thought that you may have installed it as an IOS and afaik it doesnt load bootmii at startup. It installed first time to boot2 for me, send the log if one was made to hackmii as the readme says, then i guess just try again.by niko86 - BootMii Beta
Quotejabce85same thing as well, but after powering down and back on BootMii was not installed. The BootMii files were created on my sd card though. Was bootmii installed as a boot2 or an IOS?by niko86 - BootMii Beta
It's all on the todo list here An example and sourcecode release are in the works, poor bushing is going to be very busy! heheby niko86 - BootMii Beta
Just be patient im sure HBC will be updated soon. Its all on the development page hereby niko86 - BootMii Beta
