thanks! it worked perfectly. I now have the Wii Shop Channel. thanks everyone for your patience :Dby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
where do I save it in the SD card? directly on the root of the card? and packed as a WAD or just the file?by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
oops, it was a misspell, don't worry xD I'll do that then... but... uh... what do you mean "by using NUSD"? XD thanks for everything man, you're really patient xDby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
OK, this is starting to get annoying... I install from the internet BOTH ISOs, then it tells me it has to do steps 1 and 2 for the downgrade to be completed. step 1 it does all right, but when it tries to perform step 2 I get and error message (that the "downgrade failed") and it takes me back to the homebrew channelby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
well, WiiConnect24 is turned off just in case... do you think I should turn it on? or in any case how do I do this using WiiSCU?by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
OK, I've done so, but when I click on "Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning" and then it tells me to load the IOS from the SD card, I get an error message saying "could not open file" and "error"... I can't read the rest 'cause it returns to the homebrew channel too quickly... does anyone know what could be happening?by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
OK, so I've downloaded... do I copy the files to the SD card and try to load the program using the homebrew channel? sorry for being so slow, thanks!by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
uhm... what? sorry, I'm kinda a newbie, could you be more specific/clear? :Sby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
Hey, I bought New Super Mario Bros Wii a couple of weeks ago (great game by the way) and with the disc inserted, a message appeared on the disc channel telling him I had to install a small update. I did so and nothing "wrong" happened. I can play the game, and I still have System Menu 4.1U (I don't plan to "upgrade" to 4.2.) Problem is? Bootmii no longer appears when turning the Wii onby Sebastian_Z - Homebrew General
I have System Menu 4.1U and I definitely don't want to "upgrade" to version 4.2.... but I also want to use the Shop Channel, something that is quite impossible with my current version of the menu. Is there any way for me to be able to use the shop without upgrading to menu 4.2, any turnaround? Thanksby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
QuoteSifJarYep, thats all that is needed really. That will allow you to play nice homebrew games ( for FREE :) ), and to use homebrew apps, such as turning your wii into a media centre and the like. have fun ;) wuu, definitely sounds like fun :D Quotemetroid_maniacBackup you Wii as soon as you install bootmii. yup, good advice, I'll definitely do that too. thanks for everything guys.by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
QuoteSifJaron 4.1 you have no trouble installing HBC, DVDx and BootMii, which are the most important bits. those ones :) I really don't need anything else, right?by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
yeah, those are pretty much the only ones I want to install - I definitely have no interest in installing other stuff. good to know my Wii won't get itself bricked because I updated the Wii Menu, thanks.by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
OK, excellent... thanks for all the help =Dby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
QuoteArikadoQuoteSebastian_Z(and no, I haven't tried it yet because I have the Wii Menu 4.1 and it seems it isn't totally safe to install hacks on it yet.) What the hell are you talking about? Its perfectly safe to install homebrew on 4.0 you meant 4.1... anyway, maybe I didn't express myself correctly, I meant maybe not all of the features work in the new wii menu.. or maybe Iby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
Quotemetroid_maniacYou won't be able to install some of the good stuff, but you'll be fine. mmm... then maybe I should wait until a workaround is found so I can install some of the "good stuff". XDby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
I know that in order to have a completely brick-safe Wii, you have to install bootmii as a boot2, but you have to own a fairly old wii to do this. my question is: I bought my Wii on January (or February) 2008, is it old enough for me to install bootmii as boot2? (and no, I haven't tried it yet because I have the Wii Menu 4.1 and it seems it isn't totally safe to install hacks on it yet.by Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
Okay, so I'm a newbie (otherwise I wouldn't be there.) One of my friends recently installed the homebrew channel, bootmii, DVDx and other stuff on his Wii, and he's doing all right... but he has wii menu 4.0 I was *recently* convinced to install all of this, the problem is, I also recently upgraded to the Wii Menu 4.1 so my question is: can I install all of this having the 4.1 mby Sebastian_Z - Getting Started
