QuoteLinuzException(DSI) is very common in homebrew. Could you post the full error?...I was afraid you would say that. O.K., hang on...by BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
QuoteLinuzCould you post how you did it so that other people with the same question could read this and find out the answer?Sorry, sure, done. QuoteSifJarthis is widely known, and posted in a large number of topics in this forumI used the search feature but could not find it in other topics easily... I just happened to follow the link from the Wiki Homepage to DOP-Mii.QuoteSifJarAnyway, thereby BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
O.K., I finally got around to trying the Gecko OS thing, and it isn’t working... I can’t start any games from it. It says:QuoteGeckoOSException (DSI) occurred!and then a lot more info I don’t understand.by BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Never mind, figured this one out. DOP-Mii Works fine. Thanks anyway. :-)by BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
I have System Menu 4.2, can I/how do I update/use the Wii Shop Channel without upgrading to System Menu 4.3? Thanks!by BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Since I started counting, I have have 3 freezes in 19 uses. If I were to guess including pre-counting, I woudl say abotu 7 freezes in just over 50 uses.by BostonWiiGuy - Testing Corner
Thanks guys! Heh, I only play a few homebrew games, so, not much need for HBC. I really value PussieLoader as a tool for backing up gamesaves because unlike other tools, it does so in the Wii’s native format( am I using that term correctly)? The advantage is that it lets me copy saves that I would not otherwise be able to, so that, for exampe, if My Wii crashes again I will not lose all the Pokéby BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Quotebg4545I don't know what you have against Smash Stack but you can use Gecko OS to skip the update and play the game.Thanks... O.K., so being a newb and all, that leads to a new question. The instructions for Gecko OS begin “Load boot.elf from Chain Loader”... Except I don’t know what Chain Loader is and it does not have a wiki page? Can I just launch it using bannerbomb? Then what do Iby BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Is there a way to play newer games like Metroid: Other M without updating to 4.3? The more unobtrusive, the better. I currently have 4.2 and depend on bannerbomb... Smash Stack just won’t do. Thank you!by BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Hey, yeah, that’s the one. The filesize matches, and now that I think of it, I believe I was directed to that link to download it. Again, forum newbie so: would it be bad etiquette to post in that thread and/or PM giantpune to say thanks for creating it and ask about existing/planned 4.3 operability?by BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Thanks for your help, at least as much as I understand. I really don’t want to patch my system menu or do any serious hacks. The photo thing is not that important and sounds more complicated and like more work than I really care to do, but thanks for the info. I don’t think what I’m using is Savegame Extractor/Installer, the description and directions on the wiki don’t match. Like I said, theby BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
Hi there, n00b here. So, I don’t install any Homebrew content, but I do use the Bannerbomb v2 exploit to copy and restore those annoying locked save files to my SD card, because my Wii burned out last year and I lost all those files upon getting it back( thank goodness I didn’t have any Pokémon stored on my Ranch at the time!). I really don’t know anything about any of this stuff, I am a veryby BostonWiiGuy - Getting Started
