I have an old Wii that had dust in it for reading doble-layer discs, so I got a new Wii and I plan to return the old one. I backed up all of the Wii's old data with bootmii, and when I attempt to put it on the new one (bootmii and homebrew channel are already installed), it says: RestoreMii, NAND ID: ecdc1095 Checking boot2... BootMii not found, too dangerous to continue! If your SD isby Sinani201 - BootMii Beta
As Legend28469 said, I'm pretty sure that there's no way to legally downgrade your Wii. I guess you'll just have to stick with 3.4 until Team Twiizers or someone else makes a magic app that downgrades your Wii.by Sinani201 - Homebrew General
Yeah, definitely stay on 3.3. Although I have 3.4 and everything is working fine, I fear that these "automatic" updates I've been hearing about in Nintendo's new policy is going to crack down on my Wii and get rid of the HBC and/or make it harder for me to run homebrew. So definitely stay at 3.3, life's going to be a lot easier for you if you do.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
I don't think it's possible to downgrade in System Menu 3.4, but I have 3.4, and homebrew works fine for me, including the Homebrew Channel 'n' stuff.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
QuoteArikadoQuoteSinani201I'm doing VERY important backups right now Whats that mean? It's a long story involving Vista, Windows 7, and a big mistake I made. Anyways, I was able to fix the error by unchecking the Gamecube part of the installation. So it worked.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
Quotebg4545FYI bootmii isn't out yet, and you'd need it installed before the brick. Oh, that's what I thought.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
Oh, I've tried many times a couple days ago. There's one other way I might be able to do it, but to do that I'd have to restart my computer, and I'm doing VERY important backups right now, and I can't reboot. I'll try it when my computer is done.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
I don't know, but I have the same Wii specs as you (3.4, no modchip), and the HBC worked fine for me. Just do it, nothing bad should happen. To fix it, I think there's this thingy called BootMii that boots stuff up even before the Wii Menu pops up. From there you should be able to fix it, if it does brick, but it shouldn't brick at all.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
I know. That's what I've been doing, but I don't think it should make a difference.by Sinani201 - Getting Started
Well, do you have Zelda? If you don't, then you can't play any homebrew games. EDIT: Here's a little starter packet. It should have everything you need. Just download it here. Then, extract it to the root of an SD card, and load up your Wii. Now go to the settings, Data Management (or something like that), Wii, and then BACKUP YOUR PREVIOUS SAVE DATA!!!! Then, copy the Twilightby Sinani201 - Getting Started
I decided to get DevkitPro, so I downloaded the installer. I opened it up, pressed next a few times. It looked like it was installing fine, but then it froze on the following line: untgz::extract -d 'c:\devkitPro\emulators' -zbz2 'C:\Users\Daniel\Documents\My Downloads\gcube-0.4.0-win32.tar.bz2' Looks like it's got something to do with emulators. I'm pretty sure there have been a lot of topics about this, but I'm confused as to whether I can install the Homebrew Channel on my Wii with the latest system update. Homebrew is working fine, but I want the Homebrew Channel. The article says that the HBC isn't affected, but then it says I shouldn't update. What's going on? Also, I stumbled across Starfall. Can that dby Sinani201 - Getting Started
