The desktop took 24 seconds from the start of X to fully init. To truely get to a state of speed where EWL is, you'd have to trim out a lot of the fat: There are XOrg drivers for ATI, S3, Glint, etc ... thby gamax92 - Wii Linux

Using the direct video kernels and then booting them from HBC/Postloader would only result in the kernel failing to mount the memory card. For somereason, any application that contains in its meta.xml seems to crash after 10 seconds of use for me. Solving the issue was to simply remove that line from all applications i had. Now everything worked fine. EDIT: Didnt see the date of this thread, but I still think my info may have some use for others experiencing this issue.by gamax92 - Homebrew Applications
I remember I had used WiiSX in the past to play games like Driver 1.1 and GameShark v5. Some time later I had accidently broke my other SD card and had to recreate everything on the other SD card I had. When I reran these game, everytime they get to a screen saying "Checking Memory Cards" or something simular to that, my Wii hangs. I have a Directory listing of my SD Card if needed.
