N00B and burnt games

Ok sorry if this was covered somewhere else in the forums, Im a noob at this stuff.

I just got homebrew running, with DVDx installed. but I cant play dvd's with MPlayerCE, it acts like it tries to load the DVD but fails and resets back to the play dvd screen. I have read about the USB 2.0 cIOS thing that could be the issue, but it requires a fakesign bug to be enabled in an IOS, which I dont have. I see there is a way around it. But not sure if its neccesary.

Im not really that worried about playing DVD's, I have a dvd player for that, but w/o this fakesign bug thing, will I be able to play games that I d/l and burn to a dvd r/w?

The rules stated we don't support piracy burnt games included.
