snes9xgx r600+ new usb support, new cios 202?
July 11, 2010 05:58PM
Just trying my hand at compiling snes9x, and having a bit of trouble with the new version. It all compiles perfectly fine, and plays great, but there was an update recently: "updated usb2 support (now supports both ports). requires new cIOS 202."

So when I run the newest revision, it can't find my usb harddrive. I'm using the cIOS 202 from the snes9xgx site, but it seems like there may be a newer one? Otherwise, it may just be a bug, but I'm wondering if anyone else has tested this yet, or has any input.

Thanks!

That's right, I haven't released the new CIOS 202 yet.

Well that explains it. Thanks for the update!

Looks like the official 4.2.1 is out, and cIOS 202 1.1. I'm still getting a "USB Drive not found" error though...

Did your USB drive used to work...?

Yeah, it worked fine with everything. Actually tonight I'll retest some stuff, like testing with fceultragx un-updated, since it'll be using the old usb code. The only thing I've tested yet, is that my usb harddrive is plugged in both ports and uses one for power. So I tried plugging only the data cable part in to one usb port, but this didn't help.

Let me start of by saying to Tantric, that you are by far one of the best homebrew programmers, however I'm having the same problem (I'm using a sandisk 2 GB USB drive.) Worked fine with old cIOS 202 and last versions of your SNES, NES, GBA, and WiiMC. I update the cIOS to the new 1.1 cIOS and everything was still working just fine. Once i updated the applications themselves it could no longer locate my USB drive.

I am well aware USB2 isn't working for some people on this new version. You'll just have to wait for a fix. In the meantime, you can use an older version.
