Quick Question about updating

I plan to buy Metroid: Other M when it comes out in August. I'm currently running system menu 4.0U and I was wondering if my Wii could brick tby updating through the disk? I honestly don't care about the state of my homebrew as I haven't used it for a long time.

I suppose there might be a risk of bricking, if there is a power outage during the process. Also, it's very likely the disc will come with boot2v4, which is known for causing some problems on older Wiis, but I don't have the knowledge to explain it well.

Updating with a disc is the safest way to update.
