Question about "Twilight Princess that has been played at least once"

Question about "Twilight Princess that has been played at least once"
December 23, 2008 07:17PM
Hi!

What does that exactly mean? Are we supposed to fully finish the game before trying Twilight hack?

Doesn't twilight hack work by itself as the only gamesave in the system?

I'm solely interested in getting Homebrew, after that I will throw away the game disc (possibly incinerate).

It means you must have played TP at least once in order to have a save file that can be replaced with the twilight hack.

Ok... Replacing game save!

I was thinking it was like XBOX's Splinter Cell Game Save hack.

Atleast once doesn't mean we have to finish the whole game right? Just one checkpoint is enough?

If you've played TP, you'd know doesn't work in checkpoints. You can literally save at any point you want in the game. Thus, you can save the game as soon as you start it. So once again, no, you do not have to complete the game.

Also, lets not incinerate the game. At least sell it ;) Surprisingly though, its not actually that bad of a game on its own.

The game has to be played once, not to be finished once.
Just start the game once, otherwise savegames can not be transfered

I have been able to transfer game saves to my Wii from an SD card without having an original game save... Like I had copied a Mario Galaxy game save to my Wii in order to unlock a character in Mario Kart....

Read up on system firmwares. 3.2 is latest firmware before Nintendo started trying to black homebrew. After that came 3.3 ver 1, then 3.3 ver 2, and now Nintendo is on 3.4.

I am still confused on why I could copy over a game save since it seems to be the consensus that I can not since I had never played the game on my Wii first...

I don't know why some people will get this error message on a virgin Wii, and some won't. The issue is most likely that the data directory does not exist in NAND for that game, nor has the game's title ID been added to uid.sys. Therefore, the system menu can't properly assign ownership of the savefile.

It might even be sufficient to put the Zelda disc in once, let the Wii read the banner in, and then eject it. Dunno.
