Buying games from other countries

Greetings

I have a german Wii.
If I bought games from england, would they run properly?

I planned to do so, as games are a lot less expensive in the UK.
But I'm not sure about this.

Thanks,
SpyroDragon

Well, both consoles are European model, so theoretically, yes. But don't take that as fact, as I've never tried an imported game.

If you have the homebrew channel with GeckoOS, if it doesn't work from the System Menu, you should at least be able to load it through that.

It works. So far all (almost?) games are identical for Europe and Australia. There is alss no region encoding that could be used to lock out UK games from German Wiis.

In most cases all European languages are on one disc.
But on some games all languages would take up to much disc space. For example: Harry Potter (and other EA games).
The disc you can buy in Germany will give you French, German, Spanish and Italian. The UK disc will only have english.
