How can i get Red Steel 2 to work without updating System Menu ?
I started Red Steel 2 via Gecko OS, but the screen was only green.
Red Steel 2 is the first game with Wii Motion Plus support i tried on my wii.
My wiis´ current System Menu is 3.2E.
Homebrew Channel is currently 1.0.6.

My wii has a Bootmii v.1.1. I don't remember if i did instal it as boot2 or IOS. Can it be known by what is on the "Sysmenu:" part after selecting button with i-letter on it in Bootmii (My says 3.2E boot 1.b boot2v2) ? And what does "Nand FS usage" percent there mean ?

And also, what does Red Steel 2, Wii Fit Plus and Poképark: Pikachus' Adventure update when started via Disc Channel ? And via Gecko OS ?

If you update via game, you will lose Homebrew Channel. However, if you run the new Hackmii Installer, you can get Homebrew Channel 1.0.8. 4.3 will not delete it so, update Homebrew Channel first, then update your Wii. You can do both when you connect to the internet on the Wii.

What will it update if i let it to do it ?

Mestizo's way is the way that most people would do it, but you could still use Priiloader or StartPatch to block system updates. That makes permanant changes to your wii's Flash Memory, so unless you are willing to give up your system menu, you will be better off updating HBC.

No, that would cause the same thing to happen (black screen). The other option would be to use WUFE to extract the files from the disc update and install the IOSes manually.

The problem he was having was a green screen, so a black screen wouldn't be the same thing.

Oh, I read too fast; I thought he had a black screen (which means he doesn't have the IOS required for the game).

Im pretty sure Red Steel and Wii Fit Plus install 4.2.

Pokepark would install 4.3 since that game just came out.

Here is the easiest way to update (If you have an internet connection):

-Go to Homebrew Channel.
-When HBC asks to update say Yes.
-When it's done updating, go to back to the Wii Menu.
-Go to the Wii Settings and select "System Update".

-While it's updating:
-Go to [bootmii.org] and download the hackmii installer.
-Put the SD Card in your computer.
-Make a new folder inside the apps folder, name it HackMii.
-Put the boot.elf file that's inside the HackMii Installer download, and put it in the HackMii folder you just made.

-Once the Wii finishes updating:
-Go to HBC and load the HackMii.
-Reinstall BootMii as boot2, and the HBC (to get USB2 speeds).
-Go back to the Wii Menu and enjoy your fully updated Wii/ Homebrew XP
