help after installing homebrew

Hi,im pretty new to this and need a little help after installing homebrew.
I used letterbomb to install and everything went ok,however i can no longer view any of my other channels
such as internet channel or mii channel.
I get and error like so:
'An error has occurrred please eject disk and remove power,refer to manual'
i then have to unplug the wii to get it back working again.
The thing is there is no disk in the drive as the disk drive has died.
any help would be appreciated

Hi All,

i have posted this in another topic area so my apologies if you have seen it but i havent had any response.

I have read disc error when trying to play games which i have had in the past.

I changed the laser eye approx 4 to 5 mths ago and all was ok so presumed that was the fault this time.

I ordered replacement eye and changed again but this time the fault persists.

im now suspecting i need to replace my whole drive

The other really really weird thing which i cant find anyone else having(anywhere) is when i go to wii menu and hit any channel such as internet channel,shopping channel,mii channel,weather,news etc etc the wii takes you to the start screen but when i click start after a few seconds the screen goes black and i get

"An error has occurred
Press the EJECT Button,remove the
Game Disc,and turn the power off.
Please read the wii Operations Manual
for more information"

Now, i cant think of why a faulty drive would stop a wii from accessing a web based channel.

Does anyone think this is a hardware issue or a software one ?

I really dont want to buy a replacement drive and still not be able to connect to net.
