I have a few questions about boot2.

Does boot mii/boot 2 work with a 2006 ANY system menu?
If not, will downgrading a 2006 wii updated PAST 4.0 down to 3.4 brick the wii?

I do believe your Wii is old enough to install BootMii as boot2. If you can install BootMii as boot2 it will work regardless of your System Menu version.
