System Menu 4.1

do you think that maybe dop-ios isnt working correctly? or are there other things i might need to do to get this working? should i install a fresh system menu then try again?

clearly you dont know how preloader hacks work. it uses values in the system menu and changes them these values are different on 4.1 than on 4.0.
therefore that wont work.

No, mattman was talking about 4.0, not 4.1. He was saying that he didn't think patching IOS 60 would work, and that if you had a method of installing trucha IOS you should just install IOS 36 with trucha and install preloader. But he was talking about 4.0, not 4.1.

ahhh sorry i was talking about upgrading to 4.1 while keeping save copies unprotected

Honestly, I wouldn't mess around. Just stick with what works for you.

i will try to get things working (heck ive got a nand backup so i will do whatever) will post here if i get it to work

Actually the Preloader hacks have been updated for 4.1.

Well honestly I don't use preloader due to the endless disc spinning. I use an app called startpatch for my hacks.
And will all my old apps like Dop-IOS still work? Lastly I have heard that 4.1 enables an auto update feature is this true?

4.1 is almost exactly the same as 4.0. Dop-IOS will still work and no there is no auto-update (and there, most likely, won't ever be)

Is it really that difficult to take your game disc out when your done playing it?

Well, I would say that it solves this topic. You would be able to update to 4.1 and keep your hacks, at the sacrifice of pressing the EJECT button.

Well now I might not be the only one using this wii.

Well that is the only solution at the moment. If you don't like it, you'll have to stay on 4.0 until a StartPatch is released for 4.1.

Lol startpatch was literally just released for 4.1. now just need someone to test it....

I ran Startpatch4.1 and removed the update disk check from the System Menu. Ran Mario Kart Wii which has an updated MIOS and it did NOT ask me to update, but it did before Startpatch.

On another note, could StartPatch be added to the wiki? Seems like a replacement for Starfall and some other parts of Preloader...or is it a 'fail' app?
