StartPatch questions

Aside from Homebrew Channel, do I need anything else?
Will I need to select a certain IOS, or will it select one for me?
Can I easily undo any modifications I do with this?

Also, is there a way to sort homebrew apps in the channel? I want the first page to be emulators, second page to be Gecko apps, etc

In answer to your first question:
If you're on 4.2 (I'm assuming you are) you'll need to install a certain cIOS that isn't supported here for StartPatch's hacks to work. I don't think the cIOS is illegal, I'm just pretty sure its not supported here. Google it.

I thought it was just a modified IOS, but my knowledge is limited. :P
If I'm wrong, would you please share with me what exactly it is, Arikado?

If the installer for that cIOS just patches an IOS, it is not illegal. If it does not, it is.

Pretty much.

My inquiry merely stemmed from the fact that cIOS 249 is perfectly acceptable or horribly condemned depending on the patches applied to it.


Also, if you use StartPatch MOD, you're not limited to IOS 249.

The latest version of StartPatch can use any IOS, so just use Trucha Bug Restorer to restore trucha bug and ES_Identify/ES_DiVerify (these are the same thing) to IOS36 and choose to run it on IOS36.
