Bootmii + wii remote problem

When I turn on my Wii it loads Bootmii. It looks fine but I can't get my wii remote to connect/sync. It flashes for a while then goes away like my Wii isn't on. My wiimote has full bateries.
I have to press reset to go to the normal Wii startup screen (Oprrations and safety)

yep, that means it works!!!

bootmii as boot2 loads so early in the sequence that the wiimotes aren't even active yet. So you can only use a GC controller or the buttons on the front of the wii.

The power button scrolls thru the choices and the reset button selects it!

You can edit your bootmii.ini file to autoboot to one of the two choices and set a delay before it does it.

if you aren't comfortable messing with the actually .ini file on the sd card you can use this: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/BootMii_Configuration_Editor to do it for you.

(i have not used the above but it looks like it's pretty self explanatory)
