Help! I can't install Homebrew

I have my wii updated to 4.3u and tried using the smash stack exploit to install the homebrew channel. I have a US brawl game and a SanDisk 2GB SD card(not SDHC). I have removed all of the custom stages on my wii and the only files that are on my SD card are the private folder(from smash stack) and boot.elf(from hackmii v8). When I try the exploit, my screen always freezes on the "scam awareness" screen. I have waited more than 10 minutes and the "press 1 to continue" still does not appear. Also, the installer notepad says the following:

I'm a complete newb and I don't know what any of this means.

P.S. My wii is among the very first ones released if that matters, and I have it not modded in any way (as I am a newb)

P.P.S. I tried installing it originally with another SD card(I later found out that it was not compatible with homebrew), so I got another SD card (again, not compatible with homebrew) and tried to install it. The third time, I made sure it was compatible and so I'm now posting because I can't install Homebrew.

Got anything extra connected to your wii?

I have nothing connected to the wii, just my gamecube controller

Last I checked, gamecube controllers were extra. Try the installer without it.

I tried installing it without the controller and it still freezes at that scam awareness screen

did u turn off the wiiconnect24? if this forum is still valid

Try pressing the 1 button on the wiimote a few times, see if it comes up with the options
