QuoteSifJarI only really found out about it today. I knew there was a method being developed for loading NSMB levels off SD card, which would also be used in the next RawkSD, and I had guessed it was using a custom IOS because of some hints dropped a while ago, but I was not certain of all details. There's another method for loading NSMB levels too. You can (or will be able to, I don'by profetylen - Offtopic
QuoteSifJarI'm quite interested in all of the above, seems to be a sort of burst of action in the Wii "scene" recently. I am too! Didn't know Riivolution exsisted until now though, but I find it very interesting now, however!by profetylen - Offtopic
Where's the region of a Wii save located? Is it at the same place for all saves?by profetylen - Offtopic
@WikiFSX: Aha! Thanks for explaining!by profetylen - Offtopic
QuoteWikiFSXQuoteprofetylenOK. Terabytes? Is it even enough? and it will take forever to check whether your terabyte-number is a prime. With a (theoretical) quantum computer that can operate as fast as a modern computer, no, it is not. High-speed quantum computing is basically the death of RSA. The death of all encryption not encrypted with a quatum computer too? In the case, kinda the deaby profetylen - Offtopic

QuoteWikiFSXEDIT: Just a bit of dreaming here: with a quantum computer, the source RSA primes for the keys could be recovered in, at most, 617 steps with Shor's algorithm. If we had a capable quantum computer that could go through "steps" at a rate of one per second (Editor's note: one will not exist before the Wii is very outdated, at the least), we'd have the key in less than 15by profetylen - Offtopic
QuoteWikiFSXI don't think that we ever can. I was just unsure. Ok! Thanks for explaining! :)by profetylen - Offtopic
QuoteRoto36Update.......play all games.......hmm, No need for homebrew it sounds like. That was simple. Well, without the homebrew channel, you can't play homebrew games... (Unless you have some other method to launch homebrew)by profetylen - Getting Started
QuoteWikiFSX@profetylen: It's impossible to find out if any part of the key is correct. We can either know that it is 100% wrong or 100% right, for the most part. The most part? When can we?by profetylen - Offtopic
@ekeeke: That's too bad! Thanks for explaing it however! :)by profetylen - Offtopic
@SifJar: Yes, that is what I meant, if you by 0 mean a null-byte. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work either, but I'm not 100 % sure that the fake-signing bug works the way I described either. Also I don't remember exactly how RSA works either, so i guess I'll read up on it and the fake-signing bug now! @Cirsco: If things works the way I hope they do, there'by profetylen - Offtopic
Yes, I will report when I know if it works, but right now I'm struggling with failing hard-drives on that computer (which was the reason for her, formatting it, in the first place).by profetylen - Offtopic
Just a thought (which doesn't probably work because it's so obvious, so someone must have thought about and done it already if it would work, but I have to mention it anyway because ***if*** it will work and I just sit and hold the information for myself that would be just horrible): If I understand things correctly the fakesigning bug works as follows: The Wii checks whether 2 stby profetylen - Offtopic
Thanks a lot SifJar! This is very much appreciated both by me and my sister!by profetylen - Offtopic
OK, here's the story: my sister formatted her computer, but forgot to copy all of the pictures stored on that computer before she did that. She did a quick formatting which according to a theory I have doesn't thouch any bytes execpt for some root folder or something (I don't know much about this, I'm just guessing really, but I think it could be good for you to know that).by profetylen - Offtopic
Quotexcoopahow do you change a GCT code in to text format? I don't think there is a program for this. But there should be a program for the reverse. If you look at that programs source you could find information about how you'd do to reverse it.by profetylen - Offtopic
QuoteArikadoQuoteprofetylenBTW, I unfortunately do not think this app would be allowed on the Homebrew Browser due to the fact it requires you to modify the Wii's NAND. Maybe it could to save to SD and let the Wii itself move the saves over. Yes! Good idea!by profetylen - Ideas, requests
Okay! Good luck with it if you decide to do it :)by profetylen - Offtopic
If you don't find a coder you could try learn programming yourself (yes, it's fun) since you seem very eager to create this app. However I also see no reason why this app wouldn't be possible. BTW, I unfortunately do not think this app would be allowed on the Homebrew Browser due to the fact it requires you to modify the Wii's NAND.by profetylen - Ideas, requests
@scanff: Are you talking about video or images? Just to see if I got things right: What has to been done is: 1. Find where the frambuffer is stored. 2. Convert the framebuffer to video / an image and save it to the SD or USB. or am I missingsomething?by profetylen - Offtopic
QuotescanffYeah SifJar very useful information. It's pretty clever that it hooks into the video refresh, that gives me a few ideas :) Although my ppc asm is pretty lousy. I'd love to hear you ideas as I find Ocarina and stuff like it very interesting!by profetylen - Offtopic
Unless you touch the system menu or IOSes used by the system menu or installs something that causes a banner brick, you should be fine, but before you install anything you could just tell us what the problem is and we could probably tell you how to solve it (unless it related to piracy). Also, if you have the opportuninty (have an old Wii), you could install bootmii first and do a bootmii backby profetylen - Getting Started
Still, you are to alot of help! Very much thank you for this SifJar!by profetylen - Offtopic
That was a very good explanation! Thanks alot and also thank you for the link! I have some more questions though: 1) Does the screen refresh code look exactly the same in every game and that's why it can find it? 2) Where does it put the custom code and how can it find that location?by profetylen - Offtopic
This was really cool! I found a bug though... If you play a note, then change the pitch by rotating the guitar and then release the same note, the sound of the note doesn't stop as it does if you would have released the note without rotating the guitar! However, great work with this game! I like it alot!by profetylen - Ideas, requests
But how can you run an app in the background? BTW, is it open source? I'd love to check the source out, but I haven't been able to find the source anywhere on internet. Neither have I found information about whether it is open source or not.by profetylen - Offtopic
The title says it all. (How does Ocarina work (the cheat application)?)by profetylen - Offtopic
Quoteaidanharris You don't say! I've tried and failed myself! Any way here's a plan of what I think you should do: How much time have you actually spent on this? I bet you could make a simple txt editor if you took 2-3 hours a day for 3 weeks learning C++ from this site . BTW, you don't fail learning, you give up.
