Chun Li thighs LOLZ, that's hilarious. Okay let's double check...The Hackmii installer you downloaded from has been renamed to boot.*** (where *** is either dol or elf, don't change this part) and then put in the root of your SD card right? Anything inside the private folder should NOT be changed. Since you're getting the prompt you're probably okay with Bannerbombby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Any idea what Wii games do that though? It's weird enough that a Wii game even has MIOS at all, let alone different versions of it. I know Big Brain Academy has MIOS v4, but what have v5 or v8 etc etc?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
I don't know how myself, all I know is that v5 onward blocks its use. It's my understanding that if you can delete the MIOS from your system, you can use a few Wii games out there that have v4. Plug that game in and it'll install it for you.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
sure. Are you running Homebrew Browser though? You don't need that right now and if you're on 3.4 you can't use AnyRegion Changer to fix this... At this point you're going to have to go through the same downgrade process you used before, but THIS time you need to make sure you get to 3.2U and not E. Downgrading processes are very tricky as I'm sure you've noticed,by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Oh is that right? Lol if they created a completely legal MIOS patch that sounds like it'd be pretty helpful, but it's probably still a WAD...by Kage52124 - Getting Started
I personally doubt it's even worth it. Only a handful of people would know how to make one and those who do actually work to help the homebrew scene. The difference in these people is their own code of ethics; some programmers like Waninkoko use methods that others disapprove of.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
True BG, but if all the thing does is load the v4 of MIOS, then it defeats the purpose and you can use the old Action Replay anyway. If it patches it and DOESN'T downgrade it, then I don't know.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Not necessarily, only the ones it wants to update, if there's an IOS that hasn't been updated since your 3.2u, then it won't bother updating that one. Why would you want to make your Wii totally clean again anyway. you're on the best System Menu for homebrew anyway...by Kage52124 - Getting Started
You can use bannerbomb to just play one particular homebrew or use it with Loadmii to play several ones. No install necessary, which is why those who don't want to void their warranty are really safe with this method. i doubt even Nintendo would have a way to track bannerbomb usage since it crashes the Wii, keeping there from being any obvious log.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
I'm afraid I can't help much and you'll be hard pressed to find any real help since your mod-chip could throw everything into a weird state, but I will say that playing DVD's with MPlayerCE is not the best option anyway, it's laggy and choppy. You'd probably be better off buying a cheap DVD player... just my opinion. Other than that though MPlayerCE is absolutely aby Kage52124 - Homebrew Applications
If it were only the system menu you could get around it by loading directly to HBC I would think. I believe the first system update that changed MIOS was 3.2, but it could have been earlier, but no earlier than 2.2.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
okay after the scam warning press 1 hopefully that's big enough for you to see. next press A to go to the next screen. Go up 6 to the "Install The Homebrew Channel" and press A. Now go up 1 and press A. It should have now installed after a moment. Now press a to go back to the main menu. Go down 6 to exit and press A. You should have HBC now. Does this get you started?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
okay the private folder IS bannerbomb, and you want to get the hackmii installer so you can install the HBC (bootmii is useless to you at this point so don't sweat it) when you get the hackmii installer, change the filename to boot.dol or boot.elf, just don't change the file extension and then yes, you put it in the root of your SD card and follow Comex's instructions. Look herby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Yes you'll need the Homebrew Channel. you should still be able to install it in a similar way you had before, but for simplicity sake AND not having to buy a European Twilight Princess, try using Bannerbomb with the hackmii installer . AnyRegion Changer is here: I just used this program to get 3.2 on my wii, so take your time and be ABSOLUTELY SURE you can see USA or U, NTSC (NOT PALby Kage52124 - Getting Started
QuotePhoenixTankI'd love to see a new version of it too, lol. In fact, I needed one that was a little more robust, and didn't want to keep using my phone as a means to add/remove files. Irony is that I really needed to buy a SD reader to work on this. At least when this is done, pure laziness can prevail for me. I figured it was a good app to update/rewrite: Key application, 6+ monthsby Kage52124 - Homebrew Applications
Yes the backup will still work after a 4.0 upgrade, but the benefits of the upgrade may not be worth it to you. You probably have Bootmii installed as an IOS and not as boot2. I'm pretty sure the Hackmii Installer can delete your bootmii IOS and from there you could install it as boot2.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
MIOS is the only IOS that runs Gamecube games. v4 is the first one that came with the Wii, and when they updated it they took out the Action Replay (with hardware) functionality. There are ways of finding them, but as the only way to install it is with software not supported here, you mostly need to look elsewhere... I know it can be done...by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Go Mr. Phoenix!! I'd love to see a new version of this software with a little more functionality and maybe, just maybe widescreen support :-Dby Kage52124 - Homebrew Applications
Sure I tried :-P. renaming it as boot helps a bunch.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Are you sure it's freezing? The wiimote doesn't work with bootmii yet due to "architectural limitations." Try using the power button to cycle between the options and the reset button to choose one (or just use a gamecube NOT wavebird controller).by Kage52124 - Getting Started
are you using the homebrew channel or bannerbomb or twilight hack?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Great catch. 7zip is supposed to be good, but I stick to WinRAR for non-zip archives and let Vista (or XP) handle the zips.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Good idea in taking a break. If you NEVER get the load message regardless of whichever version you've used, then you're one of the few who just can't use it yet. If it is the SD card, then try and get a 2 GB SD and NOT SDHC just to make sure that compatibility is guaranteed.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
That's what you say now, but I can't even RUN the old version. Have you tried running the new one to run the old one? I've read somewhere that you can do that with the right settings...but even that may require downgrading in some fashion. Think of it this way: I have infinite health and ammo? That's all I need :-P The rest are just fluff EDIT: Also forgot to mentionby Kage52124 - Getting Started
I remember once that I also had a problem with SD Explorer. I just had to delete it all and then re-download it through Homebrew Browser. Give that a shot :-P. I don't think there's another file browser out there for the Wii that's worth anything as an alternative. I use a 2 GB microSD card with adapter too, so it's definitely not an adapter problem, but it COULD havby Kage52124 - Homebrew Applications
okay so you have bannerbomb in the right place, but do you have a 'boot.dol' in the root as well, named exactly like that (or boot.elf depending on what the filename was originally)?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
This should be quick...I want to delete my current version of MIOS and then reinstall it using a game disk that has it in place (eg. Big Brain Academy). I have 4.0u Basically I'm out of luck right now since Anytitle Deleter is not compatible, is this correct? Are there any plans for a new version compatible with 4.0? EDIT: spelling. Typing too fast for my own good.by Kage52124 - Homebrew Applications
Yeah it would, going down to version 4 I believe, but I have to wait to get my copy of Big Brain Academy back before I give it a shot :-P. All the same, I don't know if the old version is capable of overwriting the new one in version 4.0u, let alone Anytitle Deleter doesn't work on it :-(.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Could have gotten corrupted during your initial download. Other than that I don't know.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Me either, and believe me I've been hunting hard looking...have an Action Replay 1.14 that doesn't work with the Wii.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
