QuoteYeloSnoNice guide Kage52124. Unfortunately, none of the bannerbomb zips seem to work for me. I have tried about 50 combinations and all I ever see is a blank-looking SD. Seems to be happening to others. See 2 more here: The good folks on IRC at Bannerbomb or WiiHelp are stumped so far. So it looks like there are some virgin Wiis this exploit doesn't work on yet. Well so long as you don't want to load a channel with hooks (since that's the only thing GeckoOS can't do with a 4.0 Wii), it could very well still be worth it. I mean c'mon, My Little Ball is one of the most addicting games EVER!! You have all sorts of options for what to play with homebrew, not just GeckoOS :-D.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Should this be here in Getting Started or off in Homebrew Applications I wonder...?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Yup, agreed. I would have felt like Peanut with Jeff Dunham...."NeeeeeROOM!" right over my head!by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Quoteayojoe13Yeah I heard it was Germany only. If my Wii was solid black screen without anything else upon start up, can they find anything at all. The NOA rep (whom I didn't confess my Homebrew acts to) said the blackscreen is broken beyond repair, and has to be replaced. Does he know what he's talking about or is he just dumb and it's possible to fix a black screen'd Wii?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Lol what about it was confusing Yohsi? Do you want to install the Homebrew Channel or just stick with using Loadmii? Regardless of that, you should rename whichever file you do want to use to boot.dol or boot.elf, depending on what it ended with originally. EDIT: Over 1000 views...heh heh heh, insert prideful smile here!by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Quotedaniel_c_w I realy don't get the "Backups (ew)" part. A backup won't hurt your Wii, because it is a backup. It might hurt your Wii for other reasons (wrong region, CIOS), but not for any reason, that is backup related It's not the backup itself that's the problem, it's that, far too often, a backup is synonymous with piracy.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
See reference here: Is this absolute...maybe not, check the comments below it.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Almost all of which in my opinion are unnecessary :-Pby Kage52124 - Getting Started
No problem, don't be afraid to try backing up again though. Here's the kicker: if you never do any WAD installations (and you really have no reason to), there's almost no way to brick your Wii, and therefore not too much of a reason to backup (short of other issues like potentially the NAND chip going bad)by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Lol, I'm afraid I don't know, but if you can change your region and it doesn't work, can't you just change it back so you don't lose anything?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72Ok, just went to go and back it up and its just sitting there, doing nothing. It says not to power off, but i'm getting kinda tired of waiting. Can somone help? I'm pretty sure that if it locks up while backing up your NAND, that's okay you can turn it off manually without causing damage, but the backup will be useless. Anyone wanna confirm this?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Ooooh...I suppose you could start here: ...by Kage52124 - Getting Started
If the consensus is a bad NAND chip, then just back it up for now to be safe. Hopefully you'll be able to get your stuff back somehow through Nintendo.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
See the guide here: and when you install the Homebrew Channel, also install DVDx. Unfortunately as of yet playing a DVD through the Wii is rather choppy.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
First of all, please note on the main page that backup discussion is NOT allowed here as it is more often than not just a cover for piracy. Just get the Homebrew Browser and put it in your apps folder like this: (root\)apps\homebrew_browser\by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Quoteakawhook so i did that and got through that step. then i get to the section where it lists private, boot.dol, and homebrew channel. i open homebrew channel file and it looks like it tries to start up then the screen fills with a DEBUG ERROR [1] NOT OWNER text and then it looks like it opens the homebrew channel for a split second and then takes me back to the main wii page. and the homebrewby Kage52124 - Getting Started
I keep hearing that I'm funny...but sometimes I think people aren't being honest :-Pby Kage52124 - Getting Started
LOL, it's a backup; you're supposed to NOT have to use it unless you screw up :-P. So go ahead and backup and pray nothing bad happens :-Oby Kage52124 - Getting Started
IF it works, it will be a permanent channel; loadmii AND bannerbomb will not be necessary afterwards.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
To quote Comex on his website : "When running the HackMii installer, I get the scam warning, but then it freezes/exits. This is a known problem with the HackMii installer; I'm not sure if it has anything to do with bannerbomb. Stay tuned. " I'd stick to using Loadmii for now, as it works well enough for most things. I suppose you could TRY and use Loadmii to run the Hackmii insby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Quotekydookay nvm, on the top stuff. um now i downloaded the code manager 0.6a and i have the folder of it with the codes it comes with, (wich just happend to have the ones i wanted) and my question is where do i put it in the sd card? in the apps folder or on the root? In a folder in the root of the card called 'codes' ironically enough :-Pby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Alrighty I think you need to do some research with GeckoOS and particularly the Ocarina function which is what loads your cheats. Please see a GeckoOS thread inside the Homebrew Applications section of the forum for more help. EDIT: Here's the Wiibrew link , look under 'Ocarina', read those instructions and you should be good to go. If the particular code you're looking fby Kage52124 - Getting Started
QuoteBEanits made by team twizzers and it says its SDHC compatible Here is another thing, after installing bootmii every homebrew app can load but cannot access the SD card. Any program can load and then gives me an error saying it can't read anything off the sd card. HBC 1.0.2 is NOT compatible with SDHC just yet, it was broken :-(. As for MPlayerCE...can't help ya there.by Kage52124 - Homebrew Applications
Well if that doesn't work then you may need a different version of BannerBomb, go to and pick the next best option and try that...by Kage52124 - Getting Started
What kind of system do you have? 4.0? Does your Wii's serial start with LU64? Also, look at this:by Kage52124 - Getting Started

BootMii is another thing entirely, and if you're getting the menu and stuff then you're in good shape there, so let's leave that alone. In the current build of the Homebrew Channel 1.0.2, High capacity SD cards functionality was broken. Is it possible that your SD card is an SDHC?
