QuoteSifJarQuotegameking66Yes you may. The actual HBC becomes a WAD on your Wii (I think?), so it's no longer loading from your SD card. No. WAD =/= Channel. WAD is basically an archive, an installed channel is contents of said archive extracted onto Wii's NAND (although the contents were not necessarily in a WAD when it was installed)Yea, my mistake.by gameking66 - Getting Started
It's generally impossible to brick at a low-level (boot2) unless you get a power outage or power surge and your Wii goes out while modifying boot2. Otherwise it's almost always a problem with the System Menu,by gameking66 - Getting Started
If you have a NAND flash backup (basically a backup of your System Menu and IOS'), you're fine. When your Wii is "bricked", it's not a hardware or boot problem. Your "OS" is corrupted. That's why you back up your NAND, it's essentially a backup of the Wii OS' current state.by gameking66 - Getting Started

I assumed so. I take it if I brick my Wii I can restore it then since I can successfully boot with the SD card in. Thanks for the information. One more question: Since I'm using a release date Wii with the boot1 signing bug, I'll be able to ultimately get past any update to homebrew fixes given the proper amount of time for a release, correct?by gameking66 - Homebrew General
Greetings. I'm really new to the Wii homebrew scene (even though I've had my Wii since release day, never played it much aside from GH3). I got into modding this past weekend and I used a method of downgrading the IOS and re-enabling the Trucha bug. (I can't find the guide but I generally remember the direction the guide took me , started as clean 4.2U) I read up for a while toby gameking66 - Homebrew General
