QuoteArikadoQuite a few updates have been made. You can see my progress here. Anyways, I'm posting because I need a name for my vertical scrolling shooter mode of play. I was thinking of calling it Wii Shoot In Space, but that sounds kinda corny. Any ideas fo a name? Also, this mode of play is your basic vertical scrolling shooter. QuoteMakkun For some reason, I can't get Linux to run on my Wii... and I assume you mean the Gamecube Linux that comes with the "default" HBC apps? When I run it, I see Tux and I get a lot of lines of information, registering tcp/udp modules and that no network devices are available. The last two messages are hard to read 'cause of my TV, but I think they say "Mounted root (ext2 filesysby Warpedflash - Homebrew Applications
QuoteSaviorXHey, how did you go about actually installing the mod? For example, in the Quake 1 Arena mod readme, it says just to copy the folder q1a into the main Quake directory then type a certain command. I know when you start up Wii Quake, there is an option to select a certain type of mod, but it won't let me select any, probably cause it's not picking up on any for some reason. QuoteArikadoBASIC is a learning language. I still say that with all of the libraries and source available for C++ coders to work with, returning to BASIC would be a waste of time. Furthermore, I highly doubt that whodares could pull of getting BASIC programs to run on the Wii, so lets not get to upset over nothing. Quotehai_haifajust a thought that i have... why not to make the GECKO OS to run as soon as you insert a disc in this case every disc has a signature of the region zone, then if we will make a program that will be burn to nand so it can recognize the disc as soon as you insert it to the wii... why we need all the time to get to the homebrew in order to load disc from different region... gby Warpedflash - Homebrew General

1) might be cool as you could then just program/debug etc all from the wii no pc needed... but kinda usless 2) txt-viewer is going to have write support at some point so a basic word processor is on the way. 3) sounds good :)by Warpedflash - Homebrew General
QuoteVideogamerI would like to install Debian Linux on my Wii. However when I downloaded and unziped it, I see LOTS of directories and LOTS of files. Could you please tell me which one to put in the "apps" directory for booting by Homebrew Channel, and which ones to put in the root directory of my SD card? you cant install it like other homebrew apps atm it requires you to partition your sd carby Warpedflash - Homebrew Applications

What your actually asking for is a client... not server... and you can already do this from the internet channel as already stated... but when the media players all have a function like this working well then it will probalby do a better job than through the internet channel anyways...by Warpedflash - Homebrew General
Nestopia hasnt been ported to the wii has it? so how are you trying to load it??? you need to have a SD layout similar to this /apps/appname/boot.dol (or .elf) ----------------------/icon.png ----------------------/meta.xml for each app. some like emulators need other folders as well, find their pages on the wiki for more info. or in you are having trouble just install the homebrew browsby Warpedflash - Homebrew General
