Success! Thank you very much!by frewster - Homebrew General
Today I updated my Wii to 4.3 and it seems to have worked without any problems, except for one big one. The main reason I wanted to fix my Wii was to play Okami, the game that had been stuttering during play. However, now the game will not launch at all. Other games such as Brawl and Mario Kart Wii work fine, even Gamecube games will launch. But when I put Okami in and try to start the game it siby frewster - Homebrew General
Alright, I'll try that today. I backed up the NAND with bootmii installed as boot2, so that makes me feel more comfortable about trying it.by frewster - Homebrew General
What system menu version would you recommend updating to? 4.3? And you are saying that I should update the IOSes seperately from the system menu?by frewster - Homebrew General
Hello all, I have been using homebrew on my Wii for quite awhile to just mess around and see all the different things people are developing for it. Several years ago, when I softmodded my Wii and installed the homebrew channel (back when the Twilight Princess hack was the only way) I was stupid and installed a theme without researching what might go wrong. I haven't used my Wii very much forby frewster - Homebrew General
Arikado, when I have a chance I'll get you some more detailed info about the problems I'm having.by frewster - Testing Corner
@Arikado: I've been using several different IOS's to install. I still get the "cannot create temp dir" error occasionally. I'll try it without a Gamecube controller. Edit: Tried without a gamecube controller, and this fixes the problem where it skips the patching option. But downgrading IOS's still fails and when I try to downgrade to a different system menu it can't cby frewster - Testing Corner
I tried trial 4. It tried to install IOS30 (a downgrade) but failed. Trying to install the current verson of IOS61 resulted in the error message: failed to create temp dir There was some more text but that was all I could get before it exited.by frewster - Testing Corner
Arikado, I tried to install an unpatched version of IOS 61 with the new trial, but it skipped the patching option, went straight to downloading it, and failed during the installation. The error was: After downloading everything it says: Found new-school ES patch @ 0x5e2a, patching then after it starts to install the IOS it says: ES_AddContentStart(000000010000003d, 0) failed: -1017 inby frewster - Testing Corner
QuoteArikadoThanks Frewster!!! I'll have a better version for you in a moment thanks to your feedback... No problem! Thanks for all your hard work!by frewster - Testing Corner
Trial 1 doesn't work, just goes to a black screen and then you have to power off the Wii. Trial 2 does work when it comes to not hanging with the garbled text, but when I try to downgrade any IOS (which I need to do to use hackmii) it skips the patching option, goes straight to downloading the IOS, and gives a "bad hash" error and exits to the system menu. I have also tried to downgrade to 4by frewster - Testing Corner

Today I fixed a Wii that had been given to me by a friend and I decided to install 4.2 on it just to see the difference. It installed but now when I try to use hackmii to install the homebrew channel and bootmii it says that there aren't any vulnerable IOSs available. I've tried using Dop-IOS Mod to reinstall various IOSs, but every time I try this it freezes and the screen changes to gby frewster - Homebrew General
Never mind. I used Dop-IOS MOD to install IOS 61 and everything works fine now.by frewster - Homebrew General
My Wii is 3.2 and I don't want to update it to 4.0 since there is a theme installed and I don't want to risk bricking it. What IOS's need to be updated/installed for the shop channel to work? I am having the same problem with it going back to the system menu when you start the Shop Channel.by frewster - Homebrew General
