I do now see your point on this subject. I understand that there is a difference in the intended use for emulators and back-up loaders. I still think that the majority of the users of emulators and back-up loaders use them for the same purpose. However its not the developers fault that people use a program for something it wasn't intended for. Really many people use the homebrew channelby Robert - Homebrew General
I'm getting banned anyway so heres the truth. I know lots of people with homebrew on their wii. They use back-up loaders they use emulators. They don't own the wii games. They don't own the games for the various systems. I'm sure this is the majority in all cases. So if you really want to take a stand on piracy then emulaters should be grouped with back-up loaders sinceby Robert - Homebrew General
nothing just proving my point which is valid.by Robert - Homebrew General
So what I got from my last post is this. Emulators take a significant more time to make then back-up loaders, but are still used for piracy. Now just because something requires more effort to make, in the end if it leads to the same result its not any better. Also, just because it cost companies less money it really does not make a difference. I'll bet you nintendo does't see it youby Robert - Homebrew General
I understand that pirating roms cost them less money than wii games (although a fair amont of those games are available via the wii shop channel). It wasn't the cost to nintendo I was questioning, rather it was the stand that wiibrew takes on piracy. Usually if something even smells like its used for piracy its not allowed. To me emulators seem to be an exception to the ruleby Robert - Homebrew General
Quote It's also very dangerous; Especially to newbs who don't know what they're doing.[/quote i know that but many homebrew application still supported here can be dangerous. if used correctly they are still good toolsby Robert - Old Announcements
i understand you guys taking a stand against piracy very noble. i remember reading somewhere that 99.98% of backup users are pirates. which brings me to my post, you guys are kidding yoursslves if you think that the users of emulators have a lower ratio of pirates than do usb loaders. so my question is why allow emulators to even be discused if piracy is your number 1 enemyby Robert - Homebrew General
see this is what i mean. dop-mii is a very useful tool, and not to allow it seems stupid to meby Robert - Homebrew Applications
I don't understand why you guys keep eliminating good homebrew. I mean I get not allowing the piracy apps, but dop-mii is a very useful tool.by Robert - Old Announcements
