SteelSLasher - Rendering needs a lot of work, although you can display a simple HTML page. I've not done anything with it in months. What is useful are the parsers, the HTML parser is pretty solid and I think jsmaster had the CSS parser working well.by scanff - Ideas, requests
QuoteSteelSLasherQuoteHman360I understand what you're saying, but you're getting confused (or confusing me). I think yours was WiiXplore, and the file browser, WiiXplorer (which has already been released, BTW) has a name that isn't exactly the same. It has an r at the end. Similar to the Wii and the Vii. (Although I bet everyone knows the Vii is a cheap knockoff of the Wii anyway).by scanff - Ideas, requests
oh ... Yeah I thought he was talking about using it for homebrew not patching an existing game.by scanff - Offtopic

Hi berighteous, I'm interested in taking a look if that's OK with you. If you'd like to communicate about these projects you can email me scanff AT yahoo.com or I try to be on #Wiidev if you're into IRC.by scanff - Ideas, requests

I think this is the reason. I found this on the main WiiBrew page. :P if (user == robmcp1888 || user == SifJar) { // show all the junk printf("Yet another pacman clone\n"); printf("A great hello world app :)\n"); }else{ // good stuff for everyone else goodstuff_output(); }by scanff - Offtopic
Looks very cool. Are you plans to make these projects open source? Because of limited devs and limited time most of the projects are usually an open source collaboration, I find the best way to do this is via google code or sourceforge. I wouldn't mind taking a look at the source to see how much effort it would be to port these.by scanff - Ideas, requests

QuoteI.R.on@scanff : Java became open source a while ago... though it's still Sun's baby... Sun is acquired by Oracle by the way... So java is now Oracle's grandchild too :) (along with mysql) That's cool. Then I'm sure someone is probably trying to port Java as we speak. I don't like that - Oracle owns MySQL, I guess we should say goodbye to it now.by scanff - Coding
QuotesanmanHi, Could you explain why? Anything is going to have to compile into machine code anyway - so what's the difference on what language you code it in? I assume the Wii's hardware deals in executable code, and not in source code. It's only your compiler that cares about what source language is used. Why shouldn't it be possible to code Java or Ruby apps for theby scanff - Coding
It's an internal function in SDL_wiivideo.c: void WII_InitVideoSystem() { /* Initialise the video system */ VIDEO_Init(); vmode = VIDEO_GetPreferredMode(NULL); switch (vmode->viTVMode >> 2) { case VI_PAL: // 576 lines (PAL 50hz) // display should be centered vertically (borders) vmode = &TVPal574IntDfScale; vmode->xfbHeight = 480; vmode->viYby scanff - Coding
I've had my Wii about a year and a half and my DVD drive makes similar noises, I really don't play that many retail games on the Wii. So I put it down to being poor quality hardware. As Arikado said there's no possible way homebrew downloaded from Wiibrew.org could have causes this. Let us know if a simple DVD lens cleaner works, I'll have to pick one up and see if itby scanff - Offtopic
QuoteSteelSLasherwhy has this been put in getting started, i had started wii homebrew almost a year ago ??? I guess it's not really a specific wii coding question.by scanff - Getting Started
The problem here is that each camera would have it's own driver. It would take a developer a while to do this and even then your specific webcam may not be supported. I don't believe there's any standard for communications between webcams, they all communicate via I2C using there own register maps.by scanff - Ideas, requests
why don't you just download the packages and unzip them into your dir. It's really not too hard.by scanff - Getting Started

Regarding gl2gx: All it does is basically rewrite all of the OpenGL functions using GX. I haven't actually tested any of them (I don't pretend to be an OpenGL guru) but they would appear to all be in working order. Scanff was testing it out and came into some trouble; but he messed around with the source and overcame his issue. Once I was understand everything that occurred I was gby scanff - Ideas, requests
Do you see any change if you declare FILE *handle as global? Also I don't think you need to void *stackbase param in the create thread. Try :- LWP_CreateThread( &thread, thread_main, NULL, NULL, THREAD_STACK_SIZE, THREAD_PRIO ). Just some ideas :)by scanff - Coding

I'm noticing that code compiled on r18 is running very slow. Complex math and image processing that was taking seconds now takes minutes. I'm basically posting this thread to find out if anyone else is seeing the same problems or maybe knows what the issue maybe.by scanff - Coding
