Quotehenke37A quick google on the function quickly explains that it returns a pointer to a new surface. And the surface is not freed for you. And you are not freeing it either. That's what I call an obvious memory leak. lol, how did I miss that, nice catch. After looking over my coded I noticed I am calling SDL_FreeSurface (luckily)by scanff - Coding
I'm not sure what the issue is. Unless there's a leak I'm not seeing your code should be working fine. My only other suggestion would be to use the latest SVN SDL version (that's what I use). It just means you'll have to get and build the libogc SVN, replace the libraries in the libogc dir with the new ones, get the SDL SVN build that and replace the SDL libs.by scanff - Coding
yes I'd love a way to load a dynamic library for a plugin system.by scanff - Ideas, requests
The only thing different I do in my projects is initialize SDL to 24bit. I've never tried TTF with 16bit.by scanff - Coding
Strange, it does not look like memory is leaking. I've used TTF_RenderText_Blended before and there does not seem any problems with it. Try : scoret = 0; scoret = TTF_RenderText_Blended( font, buffer, textColor ); if (scoret) apply_surface( 200, 20, scoret, screen ); Also what SDL version are you using?by scanff - Coding
Besides experience in coding there's probably nothing functional you could take from Wolfenstein and use on Quake 3. Wolfenstein is raycasting and Quake 3 is OpenGL. If you aren't familiar with raycasting here's a good overviewby scanff - Ideas, requests
Probably done nothing wrong. But don't rely on a surface to be created, it can sometimes fail. Try this : scoret = 0; scoret = TTF_RenderText_Solid( font, buffer, textColor ); if (scoret) apply_surface( 200, 20, scoret, screen );by scanff - Coding
Quotedaniel_c_wQuotescanffQuake is not 3D just 2D using a technique called raycasting which makes it look 3D. Afaik all Quakes use polygons and textures. That is 3D in my book. Quotejsmasterthe requirements for Quake 3 are: Keep in mind, that those numbers we're for PCs, that had an OS in the background, and that many foundations for the hardware techniques changed since then. Yes Quake and Doom are open source (the code .. not the content). My concern with Quake 3 would be memory, I'm sure the textures are higher quality than the ID TECH 1,2 engines. Before you attempt a port make sure the Wii would have enough memory. Also all of the GL would need to be ported to GX.by scanff - Ideas, requests
QuoteVyseYeah, pretty much. The format is simple enough, yet there's few homebrew apps on any system able to run it. As far as I know, the DS is the only hb-platform where I had a comic book reader-app, so if you can make it work... that would be totally awesome! Yes it's pretty simple. I have a cbz reader some-what working. The rar v3 format is not as open as the zip, it should beby scanff - Ideas, requests
*line deferences the pointer but *line would equal 'T'. You'd need to strcmp, strncmp, memcmp or loop though checking each char.by scanff - Coding
Funny to think but the iPhone has a lot more power than the Wii. It also has OpenGL-ES.by scanff - Coding
I'm sure there's a way to request non-compressed. If you have not looked at the http 1.1 spec here's a link - look at "content-coding". Also I'd recommend trying it on another site to verify it is returning a 200 and it's not something with the code.by scanff - Coding
libwiikeyboard.a needs to be under the libogc/lib/wii directory. I think you'll have to build libogc from the source to get libwiikeyboard.a, it's not part of the current devkitpro release.by scanff - Coding
Quote Note: I am talking C here, I am not sure about it on C++. It's the same in c++, pointers are not null by default so it's always a good idea to null them.by scanff - Coding
libwiikeyboard.a is in the libogc SVN. You'll have to download and make it yourself for now. -by scanff - Coding
The current OpenGL wrapper is very incomplete.by scanff - Coding
You'd need to convert GL to GX which is a big pain. Besides that I can't see why not.by scanff - Coding
QuoteSteelSLasher char * redirect; Its declared straight after the includes, if it was not declared it would cause a compile error If the second line is "Location: " I would expect redirect to be "http://www.google.co.uk/", just to point out that this actually does work when using strcpy here is the entire script Yes char* redirect creates a pointer to a char and not what you want.by scanff - Coding
A couple of questions. Where is the variable "redirect" defined and how. What are you expecting to be copied to "redirect"by scanff - Coding
QuoteSteelSLashernothing is crashing, basically all that happens is that i copy the string and when the source pointer is nulled that char in which the string is copied to is also nulled for some reason, will try using memcpy If the source pointer is null then it will always crash. You need to find out why it's being nulled. Can you point us to the source or insert a snippet here.by scanff - Coding
Quotemaxin_013QuoteArikadoQuotemaxin_013i know. getting it working is quite the conundrum right now. on the first page some1 posted a link to xplorer. what if you edited that and added features? yes memcpy is standard. But I'm not really sure what you're trying to do here. memcpy will pretty much provide the same results as strcpy. The only difference is strcpy looks for the null terminator. The only way you'd be getting an exception is if you're copying more than the source buffer is allocated for in this case memcpy will also crash. Also don't forget tby scanff - Coding
