Preloader works on 4.0 as of version 2.9 Quote -The installer includes an IOS patcher which when found patches IOS60 so preloader can fully work with system menu 4.0by jsmaster - Ideas, requests
Installing Preloader is a sinch, just run it, and it installs in seconds. To change your video mode, you'll need to find a code for the hacks.ini file. I'm not sure if anyone has made a code to change the video mode, but the information for this could probably be found in the GeckoOS source. If something goes wrong, you're screwed, so make a backup with BootMii before installing. Tby jsmaster - Ideas, requests

Quoteg_manHere you go: char *appnames[50]; appnames[0] = NULL; //So I don't have to bother with 0 This won't allocate the memory needed for each char* in that array. First you need to add #include malloc.h> to your includes. Are you able to downgrade to 3.2 with ARC without changing the video mode? What firmware version are you currently on? What caused the problem in the first place? Are you able to change the video mode with GeckoOS? My guess is that preloader would be able to do this, since rebooting with hooks is just temporarily patching the system menu afaik, and preloader would just patch the system menu onby jsmaster - Ideas, requests
If you want help, then please answer SifJar: QuoteSifJar Can rebooting with hooks do that? Or are you on to new a firmware to allow that to work?by jsmaster - Ideas, requests

QuotescanffSounds easy if it's images. Does anyone know if there's a spec. for this format anywhere? If it's simple I'll bash it out for you. After looking around, I can't find a certain format. All the comics I came across were simple images (example: http://www.bonom.lu/visuels/Gags/gag1.png). But shouldn't you be working on WiiBrowse? :-pby jsmaster - Ideas, requests
Why are you using sscanf? Use either sprintf or str(n)cpy. You are using sscanf incorrectly, what you want instead is strcpy(read, line) or to be safer strncpy(read, line, size of read array)by jsmaster - Coding
We already decided not to try to port any existing parser, because most depend on a ton of other libraries that are not ported to the wii, and starting from scratch would be less complicated. I wanted to use libwiigui also, but scanff wanted to use SDL since he is already familiar with it, and it can be compiled for windows and linux (which does make it much easier to test).by jsmaster - Coding
QuoteSteelSLasheryeah i had a look at wiibrowse but if i can finish all the frontend stuff and if they do the parsing isnt that one browser? Also, they are only working on a parser by looking at the SVN, i should talk with them to see if we should team up or go our own ways When you say them, you mean me and scanff ;-) It doesn't just parse, it renders also (though it is still test quaby jsmaster - Coding
I don't think there is currently any library that extracts rar files, but there is minizip which extracts zip files. I'm sure some rar library could easily be ported though.by jsmaster - Offtopic

QuotekieranmullenWrong. Pop3 retrieves the email. SMTP sends the mail from client to server or server to server. Pop3 downloads emails within your specifications (last X days worth of messages, last X messages or messages under X size) Imap downloads the headers only you specify (last X days etc) into temporary memory, and downloads messages as you view them. It looks to me that you need to use downloadfile("http://www.google.com/index.php") if downloadfile parses the url like I think it does, otherwise, how would it know what file to download? Also, not to disappoint you, but there is already another wii browser in the works, WiiBrowse, which is already rendering some html.by jsmaster - Coding
Well for one, your returning a struct block, when your function should be returning an int. Second, the while(close) loop will never run, you should use while(!close) instead. Also, you should not set ExitRequested to 1 until you are done Remove()ing. If you are using the template, you need to instead return MENU_EXIT. No one would port it, rather start a Wii comic book reader from scratch. This would be pretty simple to make (simply display images, and have navigation).by jsmaster - Ideas, requests
What about webmail? Also, WiiConnect will have POP3 and SMTP support (will be released in a day or so, the gui just needs polished, and it needs to be tested), though IMAP is later on the list.by jsmaster - Ideas, requests

Did you download the latest version of libogc? Libwiigui requires it. Also, you must call HaltGui() before Append()ing, and than ResumeGui() afterwards. You also will want to use ExitRequested = 1 instead of exit(0), or even better make the splash screen a "menu" that returns an int, like the other menus in the template. Do this by declaring int menu = MENU_NONE; and then return menu; at the endby jsmaster - Coding
