The emulator of such a recent system will have these kind of issues. The ability to make a processor of decent power run on top of a different archeticture is already a feat so it is probably far from optimized.by pinball Wizard - Offtopic

The ubuntu system is no longer for the PPC processor so if you have a decent distribution available please fess up will ya?by pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
Thanks. This literally just inspired me!!! Should we pronounce it as "We Live" as in the state that I am alive or "We Live" as in the football game is live? If we get rid of the Ubuntu logos we will be a little safer. So if you turn the dots into something else I will use your logo! Thanks though, time to run off with ideas in head.by pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
Well it might help me out. First I guess we need to come up with a small set of goals to strive toward before I go off and start to look at this. If you check the wiki page, then you could see what to add. I want to consider your thoughts on it, not just design it for me. Lastly, If someone is creative enough for it, could you come up with a better name? I also would like a logo. It is only cosmeby pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
Well I still feel this should be done. I would like to reword my post so that I am saying that I am looking for help and team members not just someone to do it for me. That is the only way I will learn. I am in the midst of creating a wiki article with more information in it. EDIT: Here is the link to the page. Please check it out:by pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
Noticing how the Gamecube Linux crew hasn't been pumping out many updates I feel this community needs to have some type of its own production of linux, starting from something very basic and structure it out to its fullest capacity for the wii. I don't have the room to complain since I really haven't contributed much but I just feel if some type of team formed from us we could do sby pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
I think we all personally need to just stop talk of "there isn't much homebrew being written that fits for me" talk. Lets go pro-active and support those of the community willing to write the software wether you are wanting that program or it doesn't matter to you, you should still have the same attitude.by pinball Wizard - Offtopic
I have probably comepletly overlooked this, but is there an app that would list all IOSes and date modified or better yet date created?by pinball Wizard - Software
Does anyone know if there is an unoffical port of linux to the PS2? I have homebrew on my PS2 (or at least used to use it, all the emulators I used are now on the wii). Now that I freed up a 30GB hard drive that I can use, I want to bring the PS2 back to life with media center capabilities. Realistically I don't think there is anything out there but I wanted to ask around for others' exby pinball Wizard - Offtopic
Do note that it won't be a port, but a remake since it is a flash game and also not open-source.by pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
Yeah sorry about harshness. I would love a Sega CD emulator in general. Mine died before I got to play my sewer sharks disc.by pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications
Here is the issue we have: Find the emulator to port it from that is C++ based and uses open-source APIs. The other option is to research up all the info about the genesis, genesis emulator, and how the hardware communicates and write code that does what the SegaCD/Genesis does.by pinball Wizard - Homebrew Applications

QuotebushingWhile BootMii will have significant use for fixing bricked Wiis, it's worthwhile to note that you will have to use some sort of NAND flash programmer to install it on a Wii that's already bricked. So, better to get something brick-proof in before the brick right?by pinball Wizard - Software
I do want to mention that even though this will gather mass amounts of information, nothing is guaranteed to come out of this. I am glad to see that other people have already added there info in though so who knows we could solve the entire issue with this.by pinball Wizard - Homebrew General
To help try and narrow down the issues with wi-fi connections I have decided to start gathering data based on people's connections. Please help out by contributing here:by pinball Wizard - Homebrew General
I have a question that I probably missed the answer to in the hackmii article... How does someone install (use I should say) this hack? HBC? Modchip? SaveMii?by pinball Wizard - Software
Great job guys. On our way to the future of even better Wiis.by pinball Wizard - Software
QuoteGoldenAlchemist Don't listen too him, just keep up the good work. The Homebrew Channel is perfect. I wouldn't call it perfect but pretty darn close. Quotebushing Network stability is a sore point for me, too, and one in which I might be able to make a difference. QuotewhodaresQuoteSaviorXthen it could ALSO be possible that if you can get the necessary files to run a game server on to the Wii through some storage format and run them in Wii-Linux It's not quite that simple. I could copy a "lite" version of a Windows install to an SD card, and plug it in the Wii. The Wii will be able to identify and read the files. The version in that pack is before the USB driver was there (it was designed as a "Look what I can do" type of thing). You will need to install using this: . This will get you started with it running but to get any further you need to know linux. Googling basic commands will get you to navigate (like to go into a folder you cd it. To even make any port of anything even feasible you need to know how the processor, well processes. The more you know about the innards, the better off you are. See, the Wii being on a PPC architecture should be at least easier (not easy but easier) to emulate since the general overall architecture is off the shelf product that is well known. Yeah, it has potential atleast. No device is unhackable. The developer forgot something one place or another and we will get into it eventually. I would homebrew on my DS now if the intial cost wasn't so high and it returned more back. The ability of getting a DS connecting to a Wii through homebrew is wonderful.
