This wii can only be fixed with an infectus if a NAND backup has been made. Otherwise it is not possible. bootmii in boot2 cannot be flashed in a new wii...by Erikie - FixMii
you can swap out the boards, they should be compatibleby Erikie - Hardware

which wad is installing? And are you using sysmenu 3.1 and ios30? If so remove all the wads from the folder and copy first the ios30 wad to the wad folder then the sysmenu. And then the rest Then try again and see what happensby Erikie - FixMii
savemiifrii will not work in your case. You have a stubbed IOS. The only way to fix that is with an infectus if you have vulnerable boot1 If not then it is not fixable at all. So consider yourself lucky that you can have bootmii in boot2 installed otherwise your wii was only fixable by replacing a motherboard which is expensiveby Erikie - FixMii
because the stub IOS has a higher version number so it will not be overwritten ...by Erikie - FixMii

YOu can only use a 'donor' nand after using betwiin to encrypt the other nand to use your own wii keys. Otherwise the wii cannot read it. Each wii uses different encryption / decryption keys for reading / writing to the nand. So no you cannot simply use another nand. It needs to be prepared first.by Erikie - BootMii Beta
Hi, I am also Dutch and I can fix wiis like this with an infectus. Do you want me to help you out? Erikby Erikie - FixMii
I know I can install them myself, my question is will the wii recognize the bad blocks that are on the new nand automatically or will it still rely on the FS table where the bad blocks are marked from the old wii ... I dont want anything new be written on the real bad blocks of the new nand (wii)by Erikie - FixMii
I used betwiin to convert a nand from one wii to another as the wii was having problems with the bluetooth module. It keeps on destroying any module on the board. So I converted the nand and it works on the other board. However analyzing bad blocks and the clusters that are used on the new board I found out that 2 blocks are used by IOS250 and Mii channel Will it help to re-install those wadsby Erikie - FixMii
just flash back the first 8 blocks then inject blocks 3 and 4 from your working wii into the broken one. That should do the bootmii trick tooby Erikie - FixMii
See, I told you so, your bricked wii has a higher boot2 and so it will not boot ... You need to find other blocks I am afraidby Erikie - FixMii
the quickest is using bootmii and then the Info pageby Erikie - FixMii
which version of boot2 do you have in your working wii? I assume boot2v2 and I guess you have boot2v3 or higher in the bricked one...by Erikie - FixMii
what exactly did you flash in your wii? only the 2 bootmii blocks or the whole boot1 and boot2? it could be that the bricked wii had a higher boot2 version and ifyou used a boot2 from another wii which is lower than it also does not work ...by Erikie - FixMii
What happens if you boot the wii without SD card? It should give 2 flashes on the drive bay. If that is the case, try another SD card with bootmii files or use another cable with different signal (component) it could be that composite out is broken. Not very likely but it sometimes happensby Erikie - FixMii
If your boot1 is not "OK" then you will see the drive bay led keeps on with blue light. The wii will not do anything anymore. It just panics :)by Erikie - FixMii
If you install a nand flasher you can flash bootmii also in the nand and can then recover your own wii. No need for a conversion of another nand. Fixed many wii's that way. Most wii's are bricked by a stub IOS so installing the correct sysmenu fixes most of the issuesby Erikie - FixMii
It all depends on your Boot1. They probably put in a new motherboard in your wii with updated boot1 in it. If you have boot1c / d in your wii you will not be able to install bootmii in boot2.by Erikie - BootMii Beta
The nand programmer itself is not too expensive. However you need to be good at soldering if you want to attach it to your nand. There is also a tutorial about using a solderless method which is tricky as the holes are very tiny and the cables to put in the holes too. And you need some blocks from a nand containing bootmii in it. I flashed now about 20 wiis without any problem but doing it forby Erikie - FixMii
Just to join this topic, I bought a bunch of broken wii motes off ebay having the same symptoms. Put in the batteries and they work and then after a certain amount of time they switch off, Take out the batteries and leave them (one needs to be left alone for a day or so) and then they work again for some time. Still finding out what is wrong with them though. Cannot return them to Nintendo as Iby Erikie - Hardware
Thanks for the information. Would replacing the chip help? Have a couple of bricked wiis with boot1c / d that I can salvage for a proper encoder :) Also I found out that the composite signal filters through the big capacitors behind the cpu. It is the second capacitor on the right side. If you have the SD slot in front of you. Reading the signal before the capacitor on a working wii it givesby Erikie - FixMii
Thanks for the link. It is useful to have the layout of the output connector. I did some more testing on the composite signal and found out that even on a working wii I cannot measure any signal on this pin. Pretty strange he? The RGB signals are giving me some voltages fluctuating from 200mV to 1.8V... Does anyone know which chip creates the signal? Is it coming from broadway or some otherby Erikie - FixMii
I have a couple of wii's that only output Component signal. The composite signal is completely dead and the RGB gives out a distorted signal. My cables are all fine as they display perfect images on other wiis. The fuses on the mainboard are also OK. When using a simple volt meter on the output pins of the composite signal there is no voltage to measure. It reads 0V. What can cause such aby Erikie - FixMii
If IOS 30 is installed together with sysmenu 3.1 and regionselecter with EULA v2 which is standard procedure with the nand formatter. Than you just type in your wii name and screen type. All things you normally do with a freshly installed wii. Even bootmii says it has 3.1E installed (it is a pal wii) when checking systems. Also I tried a converted nand with betwiin and that one also did not woby Erikie - FixMii
This wii has been re-installed using the comex nand formatter tool. Which installs without a problem. (And I have done more than one with this tool without any problem before) When I got the wii working again I went through all the steps to install the software and I got to the system menu. Than after a reboot the wii went black again. As before. So every now and then it boots to menu. And I aby Erikie - FixMii
Nothing loads from bootmii when it needs an IOS. Mini apps works. So I am going to try to run linux later. See if that works. I am just trying to troubleshoot this wii. Not particular apps. one of the symptoms is that cboot2 gives this message. If there are any test apps or mini compatibel apps around I will gladly try themby Erikie - FixMii
I have a wii at home that boots fine into bootmii boot2. I can backup NAND / restore nand etc. However when I try to boot into sysmenu it does not work. I got it to work 1 time out of 100 but then it fails again. Also when I use a cboot2 enabled program (signcheck / wadmanager) it errors out with: Failed to load IOS (in red) . I was able to run signcheck once. What could cause something like tby Erikie - FixMii
