classic controller works on channel menus, the pointer lags big time in HBC, but returns to normal when i unplug it from the wii mote and it does not work at all in any home brew game or emulator.

Not a first party classic controller?

bought it off amazon, it is branded Nintendo and looks authentic, but it is packaged in Japanese or some other language, no English at all except "shiro" on the front.

Sounds like its not first party then. Non first party classic controllers are well known to have issues with homebrew.

Yeah. A first party controller would say "Wii" on the front.

I have the same problem. The controller came in a chinese package, probably the same controller? It says wii on the front and it says nintendo on the plug that connects to the wiimot, A and B button are clear.
Look at this thread: [forum.wiibrew.org]
there might be a sollution?

It's most likely a knockoff, like the Ken Sing Ton Vii.

Not really. The Vii is a wholly separate console with very different capabilities, this is just an accessory for the Wii.
