All i get is bubbles

have installed homebrew but all i get is bubbles i have created a file called apps what else am i doing wrong ???? please help.

Your supposed to create a folder called apps, and even then if you have no applications in it, all you'll get is bubbles.

So

1 --> Create a folder called "apps" on the root of your sd card.

2 --> Download an application for example the Homebrew Browser

3 --> Then (off the top of my head), you should get a folder with a --> boot.dol, a meta.xml, and another file (an image file) don't remember the name though)

4 --> Move that folder into the apps folder

5 --> Enjoy

to add to that.....as I found out yesterday, if the file is within a file you need to remove the inner file and place that one on the root of the card, and of course the sd card has to be in your wii to work.

Lol...I've been a Legend all my life, lol... got that name after playing super mario bros 3 and beating it in about 10 minutes.. but thats another story...

could i ask for which apps i should install or is that breaking the rules ????

You can ask for which apps to install, but even then, its up to you, here is an EXTREMELY LONG LIST

have just tried putting homebrew browser on sd card but i still only get bubbles......does the app need to go into the apps folder on sd card like i did...or somewhere else ???? is driving me up the wall now...

Try reloading the homebrew channel (Home button --> Reload)

I'm starting to think (MAYBE) your SD Card isn't compatible

Even if its not on that list, it still might be compatible.

SO, lemme get this right..

You made a folder called --> apps <-- on the root of your SD Card For example (F:)

and put the homebrew browser folder in there.

Check to make sure the dol file in there is called --> boot.dol <--.. if not, rename it to boot.dol

no your supposed to puut the app in the apps folder not on the root of your SD card like you said you did

so download lets say the homebrew browser unzip it on to your desktop and then when your done with that put the homebrew browser app into your apps folder and it should work fine

all problems now solved apart from running gecko it keeps saying no dvd found...any help here

You need to put a game disc in your Wii to load it from Gecko OS.

well obviousley......but that's what it says after trying to read disk.....no dvd found....any ideas ????

Have you tried more than one disc? It won't always read it on the first try...

Question... --> Is it an original??

Gecko OS won't read backups... if it is a legit game then maybe your disc drive is getting messed up...

i've heard gecko os doesn't work properly above system menu 3.3.

thats only for channel loading and rebooting with hooks
