DOP-Mii and Gecko not working together

DOP-Mii and Gecko not working together
October 03, 2010 08:16PM
I'm trying to get Gecko to play channels. I read that I need IOS36 v1042. When I go to install it, it says "Note: FakeSign, ES_Identify, Nand Permissions Already Exists.". I try to re-install it, it does, but I still can't load channels in Gecko.

Dont you need a disc (any official game disc) in your disc drive at the time you try to load channels?

I currently have Netflix in the disc drive.

So with a disc inserted you click on launch game and no channels come up that you can launch?

"Error: No DVD Found

Press B to return"

That's what shows up with no disc in the Wii. With a disc in the Wii, it just loads the disc, along with any codes enabled in a .gct file.

If you click launch game, Gecko launches a game (provided there is a game in the wii). If you want to launch a channel, you need to click launch channel.

Does this option not appear or does it not work?

The launch channel option does not show.

Run SysCheck (you may be able to do this with DOP-Mii instead, but I've never gotten it to work without crashing), and post the log.

IOS 36 definitely was not downgraded. Try downgrading it again. Be sure you are using the latest revision of DOP-Mii, that you launch it through the latest revision of the HBC, and that when it starts you select use IOSxx + AHBPROT. Then, make sure you are installing IOS 36 v1042 and not any other revision.

If this does not work or it is exactly what you already did, I don't have enough information to provide further advise. The error message you received, "Note: FakeSign, ES_Identify, Nand Permissions Already Exists.", makes no sense since it is not true of any of your IOSes. Any more information you can provide would be useful.

Can you give me a step-by-step? I already have DOP-Mii: Wiibrew Edition v.14.2 and HBC 1.0.8

Run the app and do what he said.

I did as it said, and Gecko will not load now. Also, anything involving IOS36 freezes DOP-Mii. For now, I re-upgraded to the latest revision just to be safe.

Does this option not appear or does it not work?

That's what I want. The only options that show are Launch Game, Congif Options, About, and Exit.

Could you tell us exactly (step by step) what you have done, and what happens? Also, your wii definitely is not an "LU64+" model, is it? If it is, after downgrading IOS 36, anything that loads IOS 36 would hang.

I believe it is an LU64+ (It's LU71)

And I ran "Use IOS58 + AHPROT" and used it to downgrade IOS36. After noticing the hangs, I ran it again and this time updated IOS36 back to the latest revision.

I was able to do this back when I had 4.2, though.

Come on!!!! After 265 posts you don't know that any LU64+ can not have IOSes downgraded???

Man, you are screwing it up really bad! I am sorry to tell you but you will never get to run Channels through Gecko without having a patched IOS installed. You should immediately restore back the latest version of IOS36 before your Wii bricks or anything.

jbc007:

The message "Note: FakeSign, ES_Identify, Nand Permissions Already Exists." appears when trying to install an IOS revision which contains the trucha bug from factory, hence it does not need to be patched. That is why he is getting that message when trying to install first rev of IOS36.

Ok. I already upgraded IOS36 back to the latest revision and will now delete DOP-Mii. Thanks anyway.
