You can install the last version of HBC and then upgrade your Wii. This version (1.0.6) of HBC won't be erased by Nintendo update (I did it last week-end on mine).by superbob - Getting Started
The System Menu booted fine with the SD card ejected, so no issue with uninstall. I gave up and bought another SD card (2GB Sandisk for Wii, the one with the Nintendo seal ;) ). Then, I re-installed BootMii it and it worked perfectly with that card. Thanks anyway.by superbob - BootMii Beta
I had 1, I think it's a pretty good score :)by superbob - BootMii Beta
I've used Hackmii installer v0.6 to install BootMii beta 4 to my Wii, installation works fine, boot1 is supported, no error message, files are copied to the SD and 2 blocks of my NAND are updated, no problem here. When I power on the Wii, the drive led flashes 2 times, but the screen stays black and nothing else happens. Yes, I've heard about SD compatibility issues and I'm quiteby superbob - BootMii Beta
QuotekieranmullenIt too would like to see a WiiConnect simulator so you can connect multiple wiis without the Internet. Of course there may be less motivation in this since WiiConnect is free... for now...Despite it's the opposite of what immortalsoule asked (as SifJar and loony636 said) it could be a good idea, it would require to reverse engineer and re-implement nintendo servers. QuoteSifJarYes, but the functions used to install titles in the Wii will only allow you to install a higher version of an installed title, so to downgrade it, you have to fakesign it. (or something like that. if you want to downgrade it or install a patched version, it must be fakesigned.) Isn't it possible to uninstall an upgraded/corrected IOS (for example IOS15v266) (with ATD) and then inby superbob - Homebrew General
QuotekeybounceQuoteArikadoSafe and simple: 1)Install all of the latest versions of homebrew (hackmii installer 0.5) 2)Update via Nintendo It's recommended not to do this, but you can and it will not harm DVDX, HBC, or BootMii. So if that is not recommended, what is recommended? If my choice is 4.1, with homebrew, or 4.2, with homebrew, then what do I lose by having the 4.2 upgradby superbob - Homebrew General
QuotekeybounceThe official upgrade kills all trucha bugs, as I understand it, and some homebrew needs it. I was just told that Preloader needs it. True, official upgrade kills trucha bugs. But you can reintroduce it back in almost any IOS you want, as SifJar said, IOS36, System IOS and maybe a few other like IOS37 are often the IOSes you want to be patched. It's possible but it means - as Iby superbob - Homebrew General
3.2 is still the best version because its IOSes contain the fakesigning bug whereas 3.3v2 and later started to correct that. In 4.1 IOSes are updated and corrected (regarding the fakesigning bug), so you can't use trucha signing bug anymore, although it is soft moddable because you can reintroduce the trucha bug inside these new IOSes, but then they won't be official IOSes anymore butby superbob - Homebrew General
QuoteSifJarPatching IOS60 for loading HBC from SD Menu is supported here, provided you do it legally. For example, you could run CMDVDX34 or TBR, and either downgrade IOS35, or downgrade IOS15, use it to patch IOS36, then restore IOS15 (depending on which program you use), then use the dop-IOS MOD running on either IOS35 or IOS36, depending which now has trucha bug, to install IOS60 with truchby superbob - Homebrew Applications
Quotegameboy13I watched the video, now I need to know if restoring the trucha bug on IOS60 will allow me to use apps requiring fakesigning. Patch IOS60 will allow you to run custom wads from the SD card since it's the system menu ios, but I think this is not supported here except for HBC and I'm not even sure it is supported for HBC ... If you want to run hombrew that need fakesigning,by superbob - Homebrew Applications
Quotegameboy13Does Trucha Bug Restorer require the installation of WADs? Because I REALLY don't want to try that. No wad needed to use TBR. You can find a video on youtube that shows the process (search "How To use Trucha Bug Restorer") ...by superbob - Homebrew Applications
I was wondering if boot2 was included in a NAND dump done with bootmii ? The reason of this question is, what if a new version of bootmii is released (with a modified boot2 stub loader) and I try to restore my NAND with dump done with an older version of bootmii ? Will it restore the old boot2 (and the old bootmii stub loader) or will it be left unchanged ?by superbob - BootMii Beta
