I believe it is possible, as long as you have a trucha IOS. And IOS Downgrader runs on IOS 249, I think.by MattMan - Getting Started
1) Download Preloader from Wiibrew 2) On the Preloader wiki page, click on hacks.ini 3) Find the correct hacks.ini for your firmware 4) Copy the hacks.ini 5) Find the hacks.ini that you downloaded 6) Open up the file and delete all of the text 7) Paste what you previously copied 8) Install Preloader from the Homebrew Channel and put the hacks.ini on the root of your SD card 9) Coby MattMan - Getting Started
Have you played Zelda: Twilight Princess on your Wii at least once?by MattMan - Getting Started
Which System Menu are you on?by MattMan - Getting Started
I know, but I thought I would explain in English how to do it legally.by MattMan - Getting Started
Yes, if you download any new content from the Wii Shop Channel, you'll have to make another NAND backup to keep it. Then you would delete your account and restore the other backup to switch to the other region. If you wanted to download something from that region's Shop Channel, you would have to set up a new account and then make a new backup after downloading. You could keep switchby MattMan - Getting Started
You could try downgrading IOS 35 with CMDVDX34. Then you could obtain IOS 36 v1042 with NUS Downloader (enter 0000000100000024 v1042 as the Title ID and version number). Finally, you could install IOS 36 with WAD Manager 1.4, selecting IOS 35 as the IOS to run on.by MattMan - Getting Started
Hmm... That's strange, I just tried it now and it installed for me. All I can think of is that the WAD is bad. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the WAD. Or maybe redownload the WAD with NUS Downloader and try again. Sorry, I don't know why it isn't working for you; it worked just fine when I tried it.by MattMan - Getting Started
Are you sure that you downgraded IOS 35 with CMDVDX34? And did you select IOS 35 as the IOS to use in WAD Manager?by MattMan - Getting Started
You won't be banned. You could use the Homebrew Channel to install Preloader and set it skip disc updates. Then you could launch games from the Disc Channel without updating.by MattMan - Homebrew General
Okay, download NUS Downloader from Wiibrew and start the .exe file. Enter 0000000100000024 for the Title ID and 1042 for the version number on the right. Check the box to make it pack into a WAD and hit 'download'. This should create a folder named 0000000100000024. Open up this folder and find the .wad file. Now, create a folder named 'wad' on the root of your SD card anby MattMan - Getting Started
Or he could make two backups: one for each region and then he would only have to use BootMii each time. But yes, this is risky.by MattMan - Getting Started
No, not yet anyway. There are currently no tools that do this and run on MINI.by MattMan - FixMii
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Homebrew Channel with the HackMii Installer. Could you explain EXACTLY what happens when you enter the Homebrew Channel?by MattMan - Getting Started
I think you need a trucha IOS to install the cIOS. Do you have the October 23 update? Also, you don't need the cIOS unless you want USB 2.0 support.by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
The Twilight Hack does not automatically install the Homebrew Channel, but you can use the Twilight Hack to run the HackMii Installer, which will install the Homebrew Channel, DVDx, and BootMii. This is all very safe, as long as you don't unplug the Wii or have a power failure during the install. Just make sure that it's not storming outside before you run the HackMii Installer and evby MattMan - Getting Started
Yes, you could use CMDVDX34 to downgrade IOS 35. According to wiiguy, you should now be able to use AnyRegion Changer. If not, come back here for some extra steps.by MattMan - Getting Started
Try uninstalling the Homebrew Channel with the HackMii Installer and then reinstalling it.by MattMan - Getting Started
Yeah, cool. It looks like this topic has finally been solved! Thanks to all who helped! (Especially SifJar)by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
This is what I believe you would do for System Menu 4.0: 1) Use CMDVDX34 to downgrade IOS 35 2) Use WMIOS35 to install IOS 36 v1042 3) Install Preloaderby MattMan - Homebrew Applications
After researching more, I am almost completely sure that everything I stated is legal, and so I went ahead and did the above... Here is what I did: 1) I downloaded and ran tona's cIOS PatchMii Installer 2) I downloaded a previous version of IOS 36 with NUS Downloader (Title ID: 0000000100000024 v1042) 3) I updated my Wii to System Menu 4.0 through Nintendo 4) I used WAD Manager 1.4by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
That's okay, thanks for all your help so far. I've looked around and believe I have found a legal way to do this. I could use tona's cIOS PatchMii Installer, then update to System Menu 4.0. Then, I could run WAD Manager 1.4 (I know, it's made by Waninkoko, but as far as I know it's the only application capable of installing IOS WADs by using IOS 249). I could downloby MattMan - Homebrew Applications
Well, if you could create a program to accomplish this, I'd be happy to try it out. I have BootMii installed as boot2 and believe the risk would be minimal to my Wii.by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
Yeah, that would make everything much easier. I've already requested that IOS 36 be added to WiiSCU, but Wack0 has yet to respond. I would create a program myself, but I know virtually nothing about programming. I'm actually quite surprised that a program like this has not yet been created, as it would enable fakesigning on Wii's that run the program before updating to System Meby MattMan - Homebrew Applications
I am using System Menu 3.2. UPDATE: I redownloaded IOS 36, unpacked it, and used freethebug. This time I checked the feedback coming from the program and realized that it was unable to patch the IOS. I doubt this was the reason I couldn't install the WAD, but it is another problem.by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
So I downloaded IOS 36 and used freethebug to patch the trucha bug back in, but now when I try to install the WAD, I get the following error: "Installing content #24... ERROR! (ret = -1022)"by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
Now how do I make that into a .bin file? Also, is the cert.sys the Device Cert extracted from xyzzy? If so, how would I convert this into a .sys file? EDIT: I extracted the cert.sys with FS Toolbox. Now all I need is the common-key.bin.by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
I found freethebug online, but the description says that it requires the common-key.bin and the cert.sys. Is there a legal way to obtain these files?by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
Yes, it was. Some other people have also been having this problem, so apparently it didn't. Probably just a lack of beta-testing, I don't know.by MattMan - Offtopic
