It would be nice to have a little app that shares the contents of the Wiis SD card on the network. That way data could be transferred to the SD card and config files edited directly, without having to constantly remove/re-insert the SD card.by Pleng - Ideas, requests
OK I'll bite... if your using windows Open the SD card in explorer Right-click on some empty space within the folder and right-click the mouse. A menu will appear. Hover over the 'New' option until a sub-menu appears then select 'folder' from that menu. A new folder will appear with the name 'new folder' already highlighted. I've tried but all I find are typical modern-day websites with news pages, latest update pages, download pages and instructions which assume you know what the app actually does. No application seems to have a short introduction which says "This app is for..." would be too much like common sense I guess. Anyway, I'm not to worried. So I've seen these channel forwarders around, but there's zero sensible documentation about them. It seems you need a PHd in Wii to follow all the cryptic 'codewords'. From what I gather, if you actually manage to install a forwarder then you can load a single app as if it were a channel, directly from the Wii system menu. This would be ideal for me as my Wii has replaced mby Pleng - Homebrew General

QuoteIbrewiiI can't wait until this is finished! I just hope it includes a way to map keys to wiimote buttons - for those who don't have/want to use a keyboard, since many DOS games only use arrow keys, CTRL, and ALT anyway. Yea it would be great to have the Wiimote d-pad mapped to the cursor keys, 1 and 2 to ctrl and alt, and perhaps A & B mapped to space and enter. That should coby Pleng - Homebrew Applications

Sorry, I didn't mean to infer that you were being rude in any way. I meant that it's irritating that the Wii works that way, not that it was a pain you pointed it out! Well, anyhow, it would really be nice to see USB gamepad support in emulators in one form or another somehow. But unfortunately I don't have any form of low-level coding ability, so unless anybody else feels likeby Pleng - Homebrew Applications
Wow, that sounds like a right pain-in-the-arse! Presumably it *could* be done if apps were designed to support it, though? In the same way DVDx provides a library for other apps to use DVDs, a controller interface could be made and apps would only need to be updated to make use of the library?by Pleng - Homebrew Applications
I would really like to see support for USB controllers on the Wii, especially if they could be connected via a usb hub. I have 4 USB controllers which wold be great for playing Megadrive/SNES games. I guess the best way to do it would be to create a driver which recognizes HID devices, and an application which translates the HID button pressed into Gamecube button presses. That way all homebreby Pleng - Homebrew Applications
