Okay so you want to first check to make sure the HBB is in your SD card like this: (The root of the SD card)\apps\homebrew_browser\boot.dol If you want to use bootmii on your 2nd SD card, copy the bootmii folder in the root of the old and put it in the new. Sorry if this is rudimentary but one must start small before building up. EDIT: Also, DVDx is a hidden channel, you won't see iby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Look here for the icons: . Look here for instruction on how to make your own meta.xml's: (If I ever want to make my own, honestly I just take someone else's and use it as a template :-P)by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Or if you want to just skip loadmii (the middle-man), you can take the hackmii installer, change it's name to boot.elf and put it in the root instead :-P.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Ocarina doesn't work eh? Weird...anyway if you want to install HBC just replace the boot file you have for loadmii with the hackmii installer and run that.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
I've updated the initial guide. Basically try disabling WiiConnect24 first and don't do the SD card menu, go through data management, wii channels, then sd card (wow I'm getting repetitive :-P)by Kage52124 - Getting Started
QuoteYohsi6852Yha!!! Edit: Well I tried to install it but only aad20_v104.zip would get me to the SD card menu when it said "Do you want to load the boot.dol" and cliked yes and it said "Failed to load the boot.dol" then I tried another file the aad1f_v104.zip file and when I clicked on the SD card the wii froze and there was a black box with white writing on it idk what happened. HELP Editby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Just for everyone else following this thread, disable WiiConnect24 before you load Bannerbomb. This will most likely prevent the freezing issue.by Kage52124 - Getting Started

Only reason I could think of is getting an old GC Action Replay to work, but I'm sure there are other reasons. I'd be hesitant to do any IOS installs since I'm not quite as good at understanding why a system would need more Input Output Systems than just one :-P (I'm sure that's a a statement of ignorance there, but ignorance can be taught!!).by Kage52124 - Getting Started
yes you can use the Hackmii installer to install The Homebrew Channel, dvdx, or bootmii in any combination you'd like. If you don't want to mess with boot2 yet, then skip bootmii and just do HBC. yes the installer will load HBC onto the Wii Menu, I'm pretty sure that Anytitle Deleter can get rid of it for you in the offhanded chance you need to send your Wii in for repair and yby Kage52124 - Getting Started
QuoteruyorI'm going to report the bug. Is there any cool apps I should know about? --Edit-- What category would this bug be under? They don't have a DVDX category on bugs.hackmii.com. I'm afraid I don't know, but something is better than nothing I'm sure.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
All that sounds great, are you remembering to let your wiimote idle out in LoadMii? I've been quite emphatic about that :-P. Note that now you can replace LoadMii with the Hackmii installer if you'd like.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Well done figuring that out. I think you should report the bug to so they can figure out what's up. DVDx just allows homebrew to access the disk drive for loading stuff like burned DVD disks.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Hmmm...did you let the wiimote idle out immediately after using bannerbomb? It's a weird bug that Comex can't seem to duplicate yet.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
No you don't have to remove your old files, just rename the pre-existing 'private' folder to something else like 'privateold', then put bannerbomb in place. Next up put the Hackmii installer onto the root of your SD card under the name 'boot.elf' (of course without ' '). I don't know if there is still a freezing but with bannerbomb, but just toby Kage52124 - Getting Started

Wait wait, you're trying to use loadmii? I thought you said that you were able to install the Homebrew Channel.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
The homebrew channel needs files to be inside the apps folder something like this: "//apps/folder/boot.elf" If you have the Hackmii installer, just rename it to boot.elf and make it look like that.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Oh NOES!!! What is this? Dumping it all on me :-P.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
LOLZ I beat you again Arikado :-Dby Kage52124 - Getting Started
You don't have to install BootMii if you're not comfortable. The ELF file that you downloaded from hackmii is an installer that includes dvdx, homebrew channel 1.0.2 and bootmii, so all you really have to do is use bannerbomb to load the elf file (remember to name it boot.elf in the root of your SD card), and from there install the homebrew channel. Hope that's baby enough forby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Put the hackmii installer inside any folder, and then put that folder in your apps folder, that way the homebrew channel can see it. Lastly, change the name of the ELF file to 'boot.elf'. Also, now that you have the homebrew channel, there's no need for bannerbomb. You can ditch it if you like.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Got a little off topic there. Oops. Well anyway I hope the guide has been helpful and feel free to post questions!by Kage52124 - Getting Started
I would also vote for a way to load Gamecube game cheats through the Wii that doesn't require Action Replay. Unfortunately 2 semesters of computer programming does NOT a hacker make!by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Don't worry about me calling you a jackass, I said it with a smile. If you think the game is unfair but fun, then I'm sure you could practice hard and develop new strategies to avoid things like blue shells (of which I am often a victim as well). Yet when online I'm sure even there you can learn how to not become the target of a blue shell, like say hovering behind first place, wby Kage52124 - Getting Started
Is that how it works? Another thing I'm not going to try myself in order to find out!!! I'll just laugh when some poor schmuck who needed all those red turtle shells gets banned :-D.by Kage52124 - Getting Started
That's what happened to me as well Sffadsad. I'm too lazy to do any more testing on it though a.t.m. :-Pby Kage52124 - Getting Started
If you want to know more, you should read up on both GeckoOS AND Ocarina, since it was Ocarina that first did cheats for the Wii in this fashion, then later Ocarina was integrated into GeckoOS. I still don't recommend you cheat online though, eventually you could get banned; not sure how Nintendo does banning, but if it's by IP address, that'd blow. Imagine explaining to your ISPby Kage52124 - Getting Started
I just tried using bannerbomb with loadmii, then going into geckoOS and running RE4 with some cheats. It was NOT ABLE to load the disk (although geckoOS itself did indeed load). I think this could have something to do with how bannerbomb has trouble with disks in the drive. I'm not too sure about this though, any other thoughts?by Kage52124 - Getting Started
Oh no no no!!! Don't cheat online you jackass!!! That's horrible. If you want to cheat (and I remember the days of Game Genie cartridge wiggling), then do so within the game, just not online please. Have some integrity my man! EDIT: I forward you here for a more articulate explanation: Also no, I will not marry you, for I do not believe in marriage. :-Pby Kage52124 - Getting Started
