Wow! That's weird. I would have thought resetting or simply turning the Wii off would have the same effect without the need to unplug...by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
QuoteTantricBoth. It only happens after you enter/leave the menu 30 times or something. I've personally never had it happen to me. Sorry to beat a dead horse but does the problem go away when you reset your Wii or after 30 times you stuck with it unless you re-install the emulator or delete the save file?by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
So this is only related to the emulator's built-in save states and not with cartridge RAM saves?by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Makes perfect sense. I don't intendo to mess around with MiiImporter or whatever it's called. Thank you very much.by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Did you try re-installing the application? I used it last night and it works fine. Are you downloading through the Homebrew Browser or by yourself?by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Well I finally downloaded the Homebrew Channel last night. I was impressed with the quality of it and how it integrates into your Wii (ooh, that sounds nasty). I had been waiting for weeks to do this so it felt really good to finally install it. Kudos to the Team for the hours of hard work that must have gone into all this. I ask about Mii Extractor because when looking it up on the Homebreby TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
QuoteDrLuckysounds good as long as you aren't one of the Jonas Brothers... :) haha Ha, ha. I thought the same thing when I saw his screen name. Luckily my daughters are young enough that I don't have to put up with that crap. However, they do like the Cheetah Girls movies so I've had to listen to some of that.by TheManuel - Coding
The Homebrew Channel and Homebrew Browser could use some background music (and sound effects for clicking events and such...).by TheManuel - Coding
QuoteWell, in my point of view, when you buy a VC game at Shop Channel, you're not paying only for the game (ROM), but also for the emulator itself. And IMHO, although using an homebrew emulator is good, it's even better to have a cool channel for your favorite old-school game on Wii Menu. What I meant is that it makes no business sense for Nintendo to use somebody else's emulatoby TheManuel - Homebrew General
QuotestrongfanI can't believe Nintendo would be blocking homebrew when they can use some of our contributions! What kind of business sense would it make to pay the author of an emulator for every game that gets downloaded in the virtual console when they can program their own?by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Well, I got the card today and could not resist doing this right away but did not bother to round the corners. I printed it on regular printer paper and applied clear packing tape on top of it and then used a scrapbooking gadget from my wife that converted into a sticker quite easily. I wanted to post a picture but realized there is not a way to upload images directly into the forum.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Sure, I'm only trying to get an idea whether that's even feasible.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
These two top quality fan-made games are and the Wii are a match made in heaven: Metroid SR-388 AM2R I'm just wondering if these projects seem like something they could be ported to the Wii when they are finished.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
QuoteDanielHuehoIf you are thinking of running your old original PS1 CD on Wii, sorry. The Wii drive it's not able to read this kind of disc (although will be probably possible to burn a PS1 ISO on a blank DVD, I guess) No I was thinking of storing the images on blank DVD's as image files in the same way they would be stored on an SD card. The advantage is that DVD's are inexpenby TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
QuoteDrLuckyI don't see how DVDx isn't a big important issue. Isn't it necessary for all apps (like emulators) to read from the DVDs? You are right, it's certainly not very important. Most people have a DVD player that does that job better. I was interested mainlly in anticipation of when they get that PS1 emulator up and running, although you could still have a few games onby TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Hmm. Downgrading is too scary for me. Thanks for the blog. There is a lot of interesting reading there. It looks like I might be stuck for a while...by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Will there be a fix for installing DVDX if you have the Oct 23rd update considering all that's happend since with the System Menu 3.4 udpate?by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
In all honesty, I don't think it's unfair for Nintendo to try to protect their intellectual property. We all want the HBC for different purposes and there are those who would use it to pirate games. If everybody pirated games, there would be no incentive to make them so Nintendo is entitled to do their best to prevent this.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
QuoteOn the first one, I tried to round the edges... the VERY small edges, so it didn't look too good... Ahh, but my wife does scrapbooking so she'll find a way... Thanks for sharing, DrLucky.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
I likes... That is actually a very nice idea. I will cut the corners round to fit nicely on the SD card.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Thanks Daniel. So it sounds like I should stick to standard SD for the moment to ensure compatiblity, right?by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
I know the HBC as well as the HBB support SDHC cards as of recently so, once HBC is installed, all applicaitons can be installed from and SDHC card from there on. However, how about the applications themselves, do they need to support HDHC in order for them to work properly from one such card or since they are running off the HBC the support is implicit? I'm wondering whether games runningby TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Just what I needed to know. Thanks.by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
Is DVDX still broken with the Oct 23rd update? I have those updates so I'm curious if I will be able to use DVDX if I install the Hombrew Channel. Thanks.by TheManuel - Homebrew Applications
col70: Well, I'm hardly qualified to give advice given I haven't even downloaded the HBC but, would you not be able to fix all your problems by using the Homebrew Browser and downloading the most recent updates for your applications that don't work?by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Thanks for the feedback. I can definitely wait until this gets sorted out, although an earlier forum member posted that most applications still work so there is a possibility that you have some specific issue. I already did the update myself so I'll probably wait a little before installing the HBC for the first time.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Thanks, Marcan. Is this still an issue at this point and people are still trying to avoid the Nintendo delivered updates or have most applications been udpated to "play well" with the new updates?by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Thanks Daniel and everyone else.by TheManuel - Homebrew General
QuoteDrLuckyBut those apps don't work NOT because of the Nintendo update, but because of the new Wiibrew update. Does the new Wiibrew update refer to the Homebrew Channel update?by TheManuel - Homebrew General
Hmm. So in general, the worse thing that happens is that, if I update the HBC first and the update to Nintendo's latest offcial firmware, some apps could stop working until the authors "fix" them? Of course, this assumes that if I udpate the Homebrew Channel I can then safely update to the official Nintendo firmware without using the unofficial patch. Is this correct?
